So here is a little Samba dance in my version!
It all started in Denver,Co with a United flight to Cancun,Mexico

Upon arrival we flew LAN Peru to Lima,Peru.
T/O from Cancun!

Isla Cozumel,Mexico, soon after the T/O from Cancun

After crossing Golfo de Honduras we finally reached the land...Honduras

Approaching Lima,Peru with Andes Mountains in the background
On ground in Lima

The nex day we boarded another LAN Peru flight and headed to Quito,Ecuador
LAN Peru bird Up Close&Personal

Over Andes Mountains

Some cute lakes on a mountain tops

Very challenging approach awaited us in Quito,Ecuador! Try it yourself!!!

Safely on ground, Quito,Ecuador [ SEQU ]

Next day we flew Aerogal to Bogota,Colombia
Here we are taxiing in Quito for active rwy.

Crazy T/O in Quito...everything is hard in SEQU...approach and T/O, both are very challenging! Very fun place to fly!

En route to Bogota.

After Bogota we flew to Caracas,Venezuela using Avianca bird!

Smooth ride

Beautiful approach in SVMI Simon Bolivar Intl,Caracas,Venezuela

At the gate

Enjoy my Samba!
Cheers!

Nice shoots! Nice to see you flying in S. America enjoyed your time there?
Interesting! that's the shockwave light effect right?
I haven't made a post here for a while...
This is what i've been doing in FS...
Taking the newly freeware SkySpirit2011 747-8i for a first flight
Getting late just before initiating the first approach ever of a 747-8i.
Taking off of LAS for a loooong flight to DXB.
Over the Pacific...

Flying the newest model of all of the 747 over a country in which the oldest 747 belongs home.
Approaching DXB and a lovely sunset.
Welcome to my virtual home 747-8i!
And to test my new joystick (Logitech Extreme Pro X30) I did DXB-IST-DXB....here the return flight..

Topic: RE: FS/X-Plane Screen Shot Thread 2011 April/May Username: UltimateDelta Posted 2011-04-13 16:49:48 and read 12273 times.Well, it's another day and another flight to PSP for me...this time it's UA155 from SFO:

Banking over the Bay on departure from runway 1L

WN 737 a little too close for comfort...

Shiny A319 wing. N801UA has since been repainted.

Los Angeles is down there somewhere...

Making a weird approach to PSP

Safely at the gate.
Another development: my interest in the C/KC-135 and all its derivatives has sort of turned into an obsession, so I finally added some of HJG's -135 offerings to my fleet:

Well, OK, it's actually a C-137...taking off from EDW for a test hop.

This became the first jet Air Force One. What would this livery look like on the current one?
This machine was made to haul brass!

Landing at George AFB (aka VCV)

Touching down ever so gently...
Enjoy! |

Apart from a few shots here and there I've not managed to get a full flight of shots up, out of sheer laziness mind you :p
Took at UA 738 from ORD to BUF this morning.

Moment before push-back.

Rocketing away from 27L at ORD

FL330 racing along the border with Canada.

Turning for a 6mi final. Wing flex in all it's glory.

Idle reverse, rolling out on 23 at BUF

And the turnaround begins...
Thanks

Thanks, I'm using the freeware Real Environment Professional found on Avsim, flightsim.com or flyawaysimulation.com ...mixed with Pablo Diaz's cloud textures.... search "High Definition Environment" in Avsim...it actually contains photorealistic sky, cirrus, clouds and ENB series....but I prefer using his cloud textures only.
Excellent is the least I can say sir.

Love that water, is that FSX or FS9 and what, if any, is the upgrade used for it?
I was planning on uploading some new shots that I took of a flight last night, but despite there being nothing on television, I didn't do my entire flight Thanks to the "Pause" feature in FS9, my flight is waiting for me to finish it after work tonight. I am flying between Minsk and London and I paused it right near the border of Poland and Germany. I was hoping to spot a new addition into my AI skies, an E175 used by the Polish Government to replace the Tu-154 lost in the horrible crash several years ago, but I have not seen it yet.

Cool combination, I really like it!
I use REX and I am not very happy with it, as a weather engine it simply sucks in my opinion, textures are good, but not excellent. I like Active Sky way better, but as I can't run my FSX on setting I would love to, I fly FS9 at the moment and use REX.Oh well, on one of these days I will have a monster PC and will run FSX on highest settings...lol

It's FSX. I use the FSX Water Configurator (http://www.strikingsoftware.com/downloads.shtml). I'm not exactly sure how mine is set, but it's easy to adjust depending on what you want.
Now for a couple of new shots- Bring your bags, everyone, 'cause we're taking a ride on the Vomit Comet!

Ah, I use FS9 still for my flying. However I am going to reinstall FSX to get back into VATSIM flying and use it solely for online flying.
I did MSQ-LCY with an iFDG A318CJ and took a lot of pictures, mostly of the AI that I encountered on the way. Here is one shot after I parked at LCY.

Your best bet would be to install a screenshot utility that can take and save screenshots into a filename and format that you choose. I use a program called SnapShooter (found it at www.avsim.com) and it saves a .jpg to a specified folder everytime I press the Print Screen button. After the flight I use an editor to crop and resize the images as needed before I upload them to my account on www.photobucket.com so I can then share the images.
Alternatively you can do it the old fashioned way of pressing print screen and then opening a graphics program and pasting the image in there and saving it. This is not really practical as you would need to minimize FS9 to do this.

I´ve been away (forced) from FS due to not having a machine to run FS and been busy, but no worries, I am cheekely running FS on the laptop from work (external HD) it´s not a top end machine and cannot handle my lovely Airbuses but at least it will keep me entertained until I get my own rig.
So without any further ado here we go...
Easter has arrived and most people go on holidays, MIAspotter is not going to be left behind so... I kidnapped Aerdingus, borrowed a King Air 350 (from the nice folks at AFG) and set off on a few days of fun in Croatia!
What? MIAspotter is NOT in an LX Airbus?? hell is freezing over...

Please, step inside and get comfortable.

Ready to go! next stop... Split!

Lifting off from ZRH leaving my beloved LX Airbuses behind but don´t fret... soon I´ll be back on their deck! (spot the crazy SFO logojet)

ROARRRRR goes the props as we make our way, this is somewhere in Austria/Slovenia.

On descent... stupid ATC directed me to RWY23 which ain´t fun in SPU.

Yo... Easyriders... this is how you travel in stylee...

Next... a short hoppity hop to Dubrovnik

I think they are supposed to be Dreamliner wings, but they funnily enough look like Dreamlifter wings... It's harder to open the doors on that plane properly than it is to actually fly the thing the right way. PMDG's model of the plane is as usual top notch.
Here is another repaint I did for PMDGs B747-8i:

Classic colours for Lufthansa, but they needed to be adapted to fit on the B747-8i. So they aren't quite the same as the A321 retro-jet D-AIRX. You can get the repaint on the other message, along with the All Blacks and Singapore Tropical repaints that are now also released:
New Boeing Colours For Pmdg B747-8i Release (by cpd Feb 16 2011 in Aviation Hobby)
Here are a few more shots from my finally completed NRT-LAX flight:
The highest speed I did achieve on that flight was 635kts GS, and I got 41,000ft eventually before having to descend into LAX at night. The descent was a bit crazy, lots of other planes flying about - no rest for the eyes, and one or two TRAFFIC, TRAFFIC warnings.
I'm not game enough to do a return flight LAX-NRT, as it would appear the headwinds will be nasty and it'll take a really long time! But with the big event happening in the UK soon, it seems like that's where the VIP transport plane will go next.

Totally by coincidence, I was gonna fly PHX-STL today, but in the interest of reality, I changed it to SLC-PHX:

Ready to roll around 8 AM

The ever-beautiful Wasatch Mountains

Anyone up for a swim?
Awesome clouds and nice morning light make WN's 500th 737 shine!

Out into the desert

Near Bryce Canyon in southern Utah

The Grand canyon's back there...somewhere

Below 10,000 on the way to PHX

This plane was also coming from SLC. Never thought I'd say this, but screw you, Delta!

Arizona Diamondbacks Stadium

Short finals

Rolling out on 8
Enjoy!

It just has the standard B747-400 performance, so there are no surprises - it's easy to fly. The doors are a matter of pressing the right keys in sequence to open them properly and not get silly conflicts between side cargo doors and the rear one (close one, open the other at the same time, etc).
Thanks I'm thinking of painting the LH 50 years Boeing colours on a B747-8i next. I could put it on a B747-400, but I prefer the 747 Dash 8 paint-template, it's far better thought out.
Another possible paint-scheme might be Qantas' Nalanji Dreaming, if I can find enough decent quality photos of that plane (VH-EBU, B747-338). If any of you want to help locate good clear reference photos - I'll try and take on that challenge.

Speedbird 16 Heavy leaving Sydney, headed for Singapore. Takeoff was from RWY34L, with usual KAT1 SID going out over the suburbs of Homebush (where the 2000 Olympics were held), Blacktown and Penrith in western Sydney. Nice series! Your shots even inspired me to take my own King Air adventure- taking some friends for some late-season skiing in Courchevel, and F-GJFA (ILS calibration can wait- that's what she does in the real world) will get us there! This is the great ISDT King Air 200 model for FSX.

Starting the engines in Aubenas. Hmm....maybe I'll pick up an ultralight while we're here! (that's the AirCreation factory in the background)

Some nice French countryside

On our way to 16,000 and trying to avoid some thunderheads, which luckily didn't pose any problems

The airport's somewhere over there...

Keeping tabs on the #2 engine

Nice little town in the foothills of the Alps

Overflying the airport on a downwind approach for runway 23

Oh jeez...

It's really weird seeing the plane disappear and then reappear...

Who'd 'a thought you needed to increase thrust on landing?

Due to two of my favorite local sports teams being on, the Chicago Cubs and the Chicago Blackhawks, I made it as far as SNN. When I departed LCY, two planes in the queue before me was the AI controlled BA001 doing the same leg that I was, which made for confusing ATC communications.

Waiting for the Swiss European Airlines Avro RJ100

The city of London off to the left

Rocketing out of LCY with a light load of fuel and 32 pax.

Another great freeware model from Project Airbus

Swiss A343 flying ZRH-ORD

Thompson Airways B738 climbing out of Gatwick, notice the partial moon over the wing and the lined up traffic

Aer Lingus A320 flying DUB-SZG

Monarch A321 flying AGP-BHX

Eastern Airways JS41 flying ABZ-BRS

Turkish Airlines B773ER operating IST-JFK

Emirates A380

My AI counterpart that is about 10 miles in front of me

Aer Arann ATR42 flying ORK-DUB

Iberia A320 flying MAD-DUB

Descending away from traffic and preparing for SNN

About 32 miles out from SNN

A little of center, hand to land by hand as my ILS actually took me away from the airport

At the gate to let the pax go through US Customs pre-clearance (and so I can go watch the Chicago Blackhawks)
The next leg of this flight will be flown tonight, there is nothing on tv to distract me.

I love the Flight1 ATR, such a great aircraft to fly. I haven't reinstalled it yet on my W7 64 bit system. I have a few other older Flight1 products that I cannot get to install, Ground Environment and Flight Environment.
I am always a fan of shots like these, looks like a bird of prey swooping in for the kill. My favorite aircraft for these shots is the BAe 146.

Never race a B747 (unless you are in Concorde). B747s always win!
Those things must be about the quickest of the normal airliners getting around. If I'm in the MD-11 in FSX and flying along at M0.83, it's inevitable that a B747 will catch up and overtake the MD-11.

The one with a bit more room at the end of it (don't remember the runway number). A light B747 can land quite slowly. It took many attempts with a few go-arounds and I can imagine the people on the ground screaming "power, power, WAVE OFF, WAVE OFF".
Max autobrakes helps too, along with every bit of reverse thrust.
I'm now on my way out of Singapore, headed to London. On the B747 FMC, the LEGS section is showing 20 pages! It took a long time to type in all of those. It's very hot in Singapore, climb performance was poor - it's telling me at the moment I won't make it to London with enough fuel to meet the reserve fuel I've entered - but I think it will make it there with enough. I won't run out of fuel though - it's still saying I've got enough.
Must be the hot weather causing that to happen.

At cruise over the Sea of Japan

After about 500 miles of ocean, Land Ho! At this point we had three near-misses in just 5 minutes! (ANA 777, FedEx MD-11, and another Japan 763.)

Mount Fuji in the distance. There's a Japanese proverb that says "When the skies are clear, Fuji is angry." That actually wasn't a problem today, though the skies close to Tokyo were pretty angry. I was so distracted with trying to land this thing in 1/4 mile visibility that I forgot to take any other screenshots!

And that got me thinking about doing a flight into my hometown of EVV. Since there is no commercial service between CLT-EVV, I flew to DFW. DFW is one of the cities that has service into EVV and it is on American Eagle with Embraer jungle jets, which was a perfect time for me to dust off the Posky ERJ-145. Commercially speaking, there is not much going on at EVV, MQ has a few flights daily from EVV to both DFW and ORD. And a few Delta Regionals has service as well, other than that, the airport is quite except for some GA traffic, bizjet traffic and the random cargo service from smaller airlines. My grandmother used to live across the highway from EVV and I remember back in the early 80s the jets (probably 727s and DC9s) shaking the house as they took off or were coming in for landing. How things have changed. Anyway, enough boring rambling, onto some boring shots.

At the gate in DFW with some other MQ birds

Pushing back with some AA Mad Dogs in the back ground

One of these is not like the others

And we are off to EVV

The AA hangar in the background

Umm ATC, you awake? Kind of close to traffic, you think?

Made the turn to the north, DFW is below

Descending into the EVV area, this is where the Wabash River flows into the Ohio River along the borders of Illinois and Indiana

Southern Indiana does not offer much to look at, there is a lot of farmland and coal mines

Thanks to MS Real Weather, conditions are overcast despite it being sunny in real life

Touchdown! Something that is not heard much in EVV, the two local schools do not have college football teams

Slowing the little bird down

At the gate, need to edit my AFCAD to get the general aviation out of the gates. In the background is a MQ E140 that will soon depart to ORD.
