I'm flying Tontouta to Honolulu with Concorde G-BOAF. Fortunately I got runway 29 for take-off, the other way would not work. I expect it would have been Concorde slamming into a hill.
I had a vR of 193kts! I taxied out and slowly down the runway before doing a U-turn, taking care to do it in the least amount of space possible. My care was rewarded with adequate runway left after rotation.
Takeoff:

Retracting the visor:

Turned towards Honolulu - a long way to go:

Lots of learning to do if you want to fly it well. Quoting Harmonium (Reply 1): I'm mostly flying A319/B738 for my VA, so I'm quite envious of those mach speeds |
So terrible having to trundle along at M0.79 or so. I'm doing that speed at something like 9000ft!
Now, jokes aside - it's a serious full on simulation. To give you an idea, even the cabin display has to be programmed before you start for it to work properly. The inertial navigation systems need to be aligned, or you can use the auto-start to have everything ready to go. You still need to know how to do things like INS DME updating, and it helps to have a thorough grounding in Concorde systems and procedures. You can get that with the ITVV Concorde twin-DVD set.
Otherwise, I'm here to answer your questions. Just don't ask the finer details of the fuel system - it was never my strong point. The autopilot and other systems though are basically very logical and not hard to use.

Max Manus is greeting us from the tail.

On our way to 01L.

It's quite cloudy en-route. But it's still very nice weather for flying.

Getting closer to Stavanger.

Some impressions from the beautiful Norwegian landscape.

Approaching 36 in SVG.

And one last shot while on short final.

And last but not least, my first attempts at creating a video.

Very nice!
These are from my latest, AA1442, JFK-BDA:

Loading up for the (really not very) long trip to Bermuda

Climbing off of 31R and leaving some Silver Bullets at Terminal 8 behind

JFK in overview after a long left-hand turn to the southeast

Cleaned up nicely and cruising over the Atlantic

Finals for runway 12 at BDA behind an Air Canada A319 from YYZ

OK, it wasn't my best landing, but it worked
Enjoy!

Getting closer:

Landing in Anchorage:

Touched down there on runway 32 with a visual approach in clear conditions - but it was very gusty and turbulent, Concorde was rocking about a bit. Still touched down right on the centre line and just a tiny bit short of the piano keys - in a very gentle manner. Brakes heated up to about 350C after landing. |

Smoking landing! Fortunately, there are no passengers in FS. I've always thought of trying FSPassengers addon, but I hear they scream in terror when the descent rate is quite high. Nearly every flight I'm doing 7000ft/min or better descent rate.

How do your planes stay together??
That's singularly fantastic.
I've kind of taken an interest in the POSKY 747-400 as of late, so here's part of my freighter collection, Southern Air's N469AC operating SOO9592 LUX-AMS:

Ready to roll and leaving a few Cargolux siblings behind

Rotating off of runway 6

So...this thing weighs nearly 850,000 pounds and we're still climbing at 3,500 feet per minute. Gotta love it.

A much better landing than the one in Bermuda...the spoilers didn't even deploy right away!

Different perspective complete with a KLM 737 leaving runway 9.
I apologize for the lack of variety; I was busier flying than taking shots! Ah well, there'll be other opportunities, no doubt

This is a small flight in the default FS9 C172 from PWK-BAK.

Holding short at Rwy 34

Like a Veyron Supersport, I am shooting down the runway

And I am up and away to BAK

Circling back over PWK with ORD in the background. With PWK being so close to ORD, when arriving on Rwy 34 in real life, it makes for some fun curved approaches. Spent many afternoons there watching this.

Flying past downtown and CGX is still open in my FS9 world, Mayor Daley's bulldozers couldn't get to my CGX.

Zipping past MDW

Yes, northwestern Indiana really is this boring in real life. I drive through here several times a year when going to southern Indiana to visit family. Nothing but farmland.

Flying south of IND

About to touchdown at BAK

Well, after a long absence (I've been away most of the summer), it's good to be back! And what better way to get back ito things than heading to the city everyone's focusing on right now- this is BA327, CDG-LHR:

Rotating off of 26L with a beehive of AF aircraft in the background. I always thought RB211s looked goofy on the 767, but they make a great sound!

Climbing back past my departure gate, A36, just to the right of the AC 777.

Being chased across the Channel by a Ryanair 737

Passing the O2 Arena/North Greenwich Arena and LCY on approach to 27L. Apparently nobody got the NOTAM about the temporary no-fly zone!

Too many landmarks to list just a little further up the Thames

Making a few company planes wait

Reverse thrust and spoilers engaged.

It kinda looks like a massage customer...loving attention coming from the jetway and catering trucks!
Enjoy!

GA ramp at PWK is very, very busy

Holding at the active while waiting for departing traffic.

Climbing away from PWK

Passing by ORD. In real life, I would've been routed away from ORD, but FS9 ATC has no worries.

Keeping an eye on the guages

Cruising at 6,000ft

Passing by Springfield, Illinois...where my state government is hardly, I mean hard at work.

Low moon tonight, overflying it at 6,000ft.
Turning towards 8L at SUS

Afternoon sun partially obscured by clouds.

First time flying into SUS, looks like a larger GA airport.

About to land

Default airport had limited parking and all spots were taken, so I made my own spot

Some of the other traffic at SUS.
I am working on modifying my AFCAD for more parking, about 50% done with it and already I see much more traffic at SUS, more bizjets and more Cessna's, Pipers and Beech props around now. |

Welcome back.
Here are some shots of a short and quick flight. Flew out of TYS and landed about 80 miles to the east at 2NC0, Mountain Air in the mountains of North Carolina. Default airport is not much in FS9, but in real life, it is a challenge. Still was no picnic in FS9.

On the active at TYS with a Delta Connection CR2 waiting on me to get out of the way.

My flight level of 9,000ft kept me in the clouds for much of the flight.

With no instruments at 2NC0, starting to get a bit worried about landing there, might need to divert.

Once I descended to 6,400ft, I was below the clouds and there was no visibility problems at 2NC0.

Trees everywhere! In real life there is a country club/pool right off of the runway!

Parked and out and about looking for that country club.

No what it is, I haven't really touched FSX in a while due to being bogged under a mountain of studying. Becoming an Aerospace Engineer isn't easy apparently
It would appear that the 787 model is currently going through a rebuild which I will happily wait for, but many thanks for the link MIA.
Only when you've been away from FSX for so long, so you realise how out of date your AI actually is.
Did a short hop into Glasgow the other day and heard "Kestrel" over the radio-waves. Expecting it to be Thomas Cook; you can imagine my horror when a certain orange, white and blue Airbus arrives behind me.

It was from Globusworld, who some of the modelers are not part of United Traffic. They recently rereleased an AI MD-11 that was updated from the Globusworld model. They are also working on an updated B787-8 as well. They also released the B747-8 and are also updating the Globusworld SSJ-100 as well. The GW B787-8 is hard to find, but I think there is a thread to a download link in the Alpha India forums.

Slowing the 45XR down, the mods made for a better aircraft and it came with better engine sounds too.

Don't have the CLS A330 unfortunately but I've got an unreleased SQ A333 for the Overland model (not compatible in this instance with CLS) sitting on my hard drive. If there's an appetite for it I may get it packaged and released. |

And what a very pretty girl she is! Seriously, now that BMI's livery is being painted over, Virgin Atlantic's A340s are the nicest looking planes around.
I've downloaded it but won't have a chance to do any (virtual) flying for a few weeks.

Trying out a new airline, Peach Aviation from Japan. read a TR on this site and it got me interested... and they fly A320s
Flight MM5 from Osaka Kansai to Seoul Incheon.
Just before boarding this gorgeous girl!

En route, eating the miles like a boss.

Hmmm... peachy.

After an hour and a bit, we reach Seoul HUGHE Incheon Airport.
Looks like the Oryx wants to have a bit of peach.

Some birds form around the world at the Satellite terminal of Incheon.

I was climbing out of ICN for the return leg, but FS started acting FS-ish and crashed (Or I was probably shot down by the North Koreans)

Early morning startup, looks like winter has hit Sedona.

FS9 and Ground Environment Pro does not do justice for the scenery of Sedona. It is breathtaking in real life.

Heading towards LAS

The Arizona terrain does change drastically depending on the region, it gets brown once out of the mountains and red rock areas.

Skirting along the south end of the Grand Canyon

Visual approach and the stip off in the distance

Right on the center line, not bad for a visual (for me at least)

Pulling off of the active and waiting for parking instructions

Did not realize that BA has a big heavy presence in LAS

Pretty soon the Mad Dogs will be replaced with A319s

Holding before crossing another active runway, an AS B738 is slowing down upon arrival

I requested West Parking, didn't realize it would be with the Janet guys. Hope they do not mind.
I think my next flight will be a quick hop into SAN.
For some real pics of Sedona, Airzona, see these http://s10.photobucket.com/albums/a140/csturdiv/Arizona/Sedona/. Took them last October when I visited family out in Phoenix. There are also some shots from around the airport and a couple of videos of a helicopter tour I took of the Sedona area. |
