I seem to have a problem with a specific aircraft I downloaded recently. A widerøe Dash-8-100. It all looks quite good, and the plane flies well, but at times when I'm on the ground there is suddenly a weird sound, a bit similar to 100 microsoft windows error messages popping up at once. It goes on for about 10 secs, and then everything seems ok. For about 10 secs anyway, then the sounds appear again. I think it follows a pattern. 10 secs of noise, 10 secs of silence, and so on.
It appears to only happen when the gear is touching the ground, and I've not been bothered with it in mid air.
It also seems to occur regardless of what I do with the plane (parked, taxi, braking, accelerating etc).
And the real puzzler; it happens even when I pause the game(!)
Has anyone experienced anything like this, and if so, what should I do?
I've tried replacing the sound files with other Dash-8 sound files, I've reinstalled the aircraft folder etc... but nothing seems to help.

Just a random thought- do you have FSUIPC? It might help.
If you don't, it's available at http://schiratti.com/dowson.html , scroll down a bit to the FS2004 section.
Also, what A/C are you using, specifically?

Just a wild guess but do you use the dreamwings dash8, if so the model did have some issues with bouncing gear (when on the ground), i believe there is a patch for it which changes some values in the contact points settings in the aircraft.cfg file.

I dont assume its nav radio giving you the NAVAID morse sode identifier? It gives an odd signal which is kinda similar to a windows error message.
Hold it . . . Hold it . . . HOLD THE FREAKIN NOSE UP!!

Well it appears to be a Dreamwings model, so you may have a good point there.

Oh, by the way, I followed the instructions and there was no change, the noise was still there... No, wait, there was one slight change, the plane didn't have a nosewheel this time...
I don't get this...

Can you copy paste the original line you have in your config file pls (point 1,2,and 3)?
I'll give you back the solution if I remember how I did it, it has something to do with the compression rate, IIRC I've set it to 1 iso the original setting but I recently uninstalled it so I can no longer give you my values.
This is how it looks after I tried the thing suggested above. I'm sure it isn't right...
Nor am I sure the bouncy plane is the problem... Like I said these sounds occur even when I pause the game. (And infact I've heard it in short glimpses at times in the air too now.)
