Hello I am having trouble playing FSX on my laptop. The frame rate is ridiculous and it it no fun for me now. I bought the game when it came out and since then I have only used it once. SO please if anyone can help me with the laptop requirements to run the game like the pictures on the box. Thanks!

In all honesty, there are very few expensive DESKTOP computers that can come close to running FSX smoothly. I doubt a laptop exists that can handle it right now without looking like a slideshow.

oh? My midrange desktop runs it quite smoothly, thank you very much.
But I'm not stupid and don't think I can turn every single slider all the way up and still get decent performance...

FSX does require a system with dedicated video memory of 128 MB ( all sliders left) or more. If your laptop uses a shared memory, and every bitmap has to be transported over the main system bus for every frame, there is no chance.

Define your terms - what does "smoothly" look like to you? And what do you define as "midrange," exactly?

It HAS to have a GPU...none of that "integrated graphics" crap. Just look for the fastest CPU, most memory, and best GPU that you can find. However, a sacrifice must be made between performance and portability...so try to lean towards what you truly want.

FSX runs great on my 2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo macbook (with 1.5GB of RAM). I get decent frame rates and can take advantage of the new features (such as jetbridges, etc...).
Only with the purchase. It either reads GPU with 128(256..)MB of memory, or GPU with up to 128(256..)MB of memory. The second means that system is used, there is no graphics memory, and for FSX you can just forget it. No way to upgrade.
If you have a desktop with shared memory, you can plug in a real card, like the GF7600 with 512MB and will be happy.

yes that is correct and so is changing the graphics card, there are like 2 laptops out there that can change graphics card, so basically the only things you can swap in a laptop are HHD, Optical drive, and memory!
