For those of you who recognise my username, you will know I build lego models.

I have recently completed a 7773ER model and am interested in making up afew tail stickers to print out and stick on to the tail. I have made a simple tail template for anybody to play around with and make their own tail scheme.

If there are any guys (or girls) out there who is good with photoshop, MS paint, etc etc, I would very much like to make some PIA tails for the model as PIA have recently started using new tail designs. Would this be possible? Are there any computer generated PIA tail schemes lying around the internet?

The tail template...

One of my favourite PIA tails I would like...

Any help what so ever would be appreciated and any tail shemes of your own would be welcomed.

I believe you just download the tail template provided and make up your own scheme  Smile

I'd suggest using a photo from Matt Cawby (with permission of course)

Those are great pictures, however I have no idea how to refit them into my template.

I was thinking, a flight simulator model may have a computer generated tail scheme which I could copy. I must research more in to that.

Thanks for your help  Smile

Go for Melvin rafi's model, they are the best and most accurate, just get the paintkit on avsim.

Well I did manage to find a tail scheme from one of the many PIA 777 textures available to download for flightsimulator...

I just have to find the other two tails now! Blah!

Go for Melvin rafi's model,

I think I tried downloading one of his textures and I couldn't open any of the texture files.

Legoguy, IMO you should make your models bigger so you can build the airfoils (wings, rudder etc.) in the shape of an actual airfoil.

I can't make them any bigger as I don't have that many lego bricks and I also have no room to store the actual model.

I can't find any more FS PIA tails  Sad

I can take any PIA tail photo and fit it within your template shown at the top. However, the photos on a.net are usually about 1024x768 in size, which means they are quite jagged when enlarged that much.

If you don't mind them being quite jagged, I can do a few for you.

Hey, at this stage anything would do  Smile

Perhaps you could use the photos from Matt Cowby's page from reply 1

I already found the PIA tail scheme 'Thar - Colours of the Desert' so no need to do that. I have been told that the template doesn't work properly so if you got the rough shape I'd be happy enough  Smile

I'd be happy to print off any other random tail schemes made up.

Any help is appreciated Big grin

Sorry to dig up an old thread. I was wondering if anybody could find the tail imagine of one of the PIA colours schemes within the textures files of a flight sim 777. Unfortunately for some reason I can only open the odd image within the texture files. Thus can only find one image including the tail textures.

Im looking for the image the same as the one below but with the different livery. Any help would be appreciated.
