I have the passenger airplane Lego set (blue plane). However, I am considering purchasing the City Airport set #7894. Can someone tell me how long the airplane (red plane) is that comes in this set?

Does it not say on the lego website?

As long as the number of take-offs equals the number of landings...you're doing fine.

that is such a lame looking lego plane. the quality of lego sets in recent years has sunken so low that most kits arent worth buying anymore.

Hands down, the best kits are the ones from the late 80s till about 1994.
