Many of you here have expressed interest in our airline management simulation/game that is in development. For that reason, I wanted to let you people here know about something new. There is now a demo video of Airline Traffic Manager from a few years back that I've made available on our web site. Check out the message board to get there. You will need to create a message board account to get to the post with the video links.
In 2004, before having to put Intrinsic Algorithm, and thus Airline Traffic Manager, into hiatus, we were actively courting publishers at the Game Developers Conference. As part of that process, I put together a package that included a PowerPoint video of the demo of the game. This video highlighted a lot of the concepts and features that we had in place at the time. It was these features that made Airline Traffic Manager unique to the airline simulation genre.
Because of what we were doing with the game at the time and who the audience was, the video is more of a functional demo showing the features and the potential. While it shows off the engine and the temporary interface, it isn't truly a gameplay video.
Either way, this is your chance to see where we were at before the long time off... and a glimpse into what ATM is becoming! We look forward to hearing your comments and feedback!

Amazing.
Have watched all the vids, and can not wait for this program to come out.
Looks very very very well detailed, with alot of information at your fingertips. Ver very real world as well, Airline5 does not simulate half of what this program does, even including weather
Thanks, and please keep us updated on when we can expect this program

Remember that we are talking about two different things here. First and foremost, ATM will be a stand-alone game. (When you have true AI for the other airlines, you can do that, ya know!) At this point, it would be similar to most other "tycoon-style" games.
Secondly, we will be then working on a persistent world, real-time online game. In that version, you would use the normal game client to connect to a web server where the game would actually be running continuously - note that this would not be turn-based but real time with a slightly accelerated pace... like 4:1. So you would play one week in a little less than 2 days. A month in 7 days, etc. The number of players allowed into each iteration of the game world would be limited so as to mimic the real world. So, considering that between mainlines, regionals and commuters in North America we have maybe 20-30 viable airlines, that's what it would be like in the game. So there would be many iterations of the game world... each with 20-40 players. As their airlines fade and die, new airlines from new players would start in that same world (starting small, of course). That multi-player version would be secondary to providing the massive, immersive experience of the stand-alone game, however.
Thanks for your interest! For more comments and questions on the game, I invite you to use our message board instead.

Oh... while you are there, take a moment to vote in some polls we have up. These are available to guests as well (although why wouldn't you want to create a free message board account?)
