I'm on VATSIM, its awesome when there are controllers but there aren't many ever on. And then you have the lack of other traffic and the problems with the other traffic, so I don't use it very often. I'd love to become an controller but its too hard with all the exmas and stuff so yeah.

I have question for you guys. There are always more controllers in Europe than in USA. Why is that ? I want to fly to USA but everytime I look there aren't any, just a few. Are there any specific days and times (klax, ksfo, kjfk, ksea, kmia etc...)

Quoting Can258 (Reply 6):

There are tons of events that are coordinated where a lot of controllers are on at a time, along with a lot of traffic. For example, just this past weekend, there was a Battle of the Airways event at ZJX (www.zjxartcc.org).

But when there's not any events, I'd say the best time to fly online would be in the evening hours (local for whatever region you're in).

I was flying on Vatsim a little bit, mostly USA in Level-d 767-300 a/c but when i changed from FS9 to FSX it caused some problems with FSInn so i had to un-install FSInn and my only option is to fly offline. I'm still waiting for a new Squawkbox version to come out through.

Freelance pilot here, but I haven't flown VATSIM in ages. Heck I don't even have FS installed.

VATISM helped somewhat for my instrument rating, I found VATSIM controllers are waaay tougher than real life ATC, interestingly enough.  scratchchin

I transfered to ZTL. There is almost no one staffed at ATL, CLT, or BHM, the three main airports in the ZTL ARTCC so I want to atleast help change that to some degree. There are only a couple handfuls of controllers at ZTL comparred to ZLA.

The more controllers online, the greater chance of pilots flying to/from your airport. Unicom sucks!

When my system crashed, I lost the 'auto-save' password feature for vatsim  crazy .

A good friend helped me set up my newer account using his 'acceptable' email address, since I was unable to re-use mine. Logged several hundred hours online, but then the system crashed again banghead

Sent a "remind me of my password" request, but there was no way I could get it, since my friend had moved & unfortunately became unreachable. Flying online was such a joy, I sure miss it..  bored

Regards,
cool
