So the game has now been reset and we are back again in 1950. The reset was a couple of weeks back now, but due to me being busy I only started on Monday. Post your own stats etc:

Airline Name: Gojet Airlines (GJS)
Main Base: Leeds Bradford (LBA)
HUB: Newcastle (NCL)
Fleet: 5 Douglas DC3
1 Convair 240 (1)
D.O.P.: $900,000
Net Worth: $35,600,000
Logo:

Alliance:

The plan is to expand with a relatively large fleet of Convair aircraft, then go onto Boeing and Viscount etc.

The game is educating me on some of the older a/c types too, which is good.

How do you expand as I started my hub at EDI and now I can't get any more gates so can't open any new routes. Do I have to find an airport with 4 gates I can lease and then turn it into a focus city?

A> build a terminal at EDI ($$$)
B> open another hub ($)
C> wait till end of month and pray that some gates will open up at EDI (luck)

Been playing AM for the past month or so. Gets a bit dull after a while with all the tight competition around. Especially when some players start reducing fares to 5 euros which pretty much kills the entire route...

We will probably reset earlier than the 1960 plan. The game has grown an awful lot faster than anticipated and Multiworlds will not be released till January or February at the earliest due to the fact both myself and the other developer are busy with College. Any suggestions to slow down the growth appart from Irish pay levels?  Smile

 checkmark

Every time I find a new, good, profitable, route out of my hub seemingly from nowhere 2-3 other airlines start-up there withing days and kill it for me.
Not fun.  Sad

Much like Empires. Too many total players for one world.

How about limiting the number of airlines on a particular route? Bidding for slots will be a good alternative.

And how exactly do you decide that???

Bidding for slots might work, but it might make things worse too, make the bigger airlines even bigger and the tadpoles into lunch...

Limiting the game to say 1000 players would work best, but Multi-worlds are needed... plus i can see more than one person wanting to play mutliple worlds at once if they are in different eras.

Anyways, can everyone stop bitching about how hard the game is??? I'm enjoying this round and i'm not having that many slot issues... I just want some more selection of aircraft  Smile

I'd say if we cleared out the inactive airlines through auto-bankrupt (We were concerned about a few issues with this feature) the game should be more interesting and will extend the life of it considerably.

Well, now Mogul seems to have alot of the same difficulties that made me stop playing Empires.

Landing slots in the US are gone for all major airports. Not like it matters, if you set up a route to any of them some bigger airline who is already on the route will make it unprofitable within a day by lowering fares.
It is difficult in Mogul to see where landing slots are still available since every country is listed differently. It takes a long time to even think about moving operations out of the US.
If you do move just having landing rights isn't enough, you have to spend more money to make the place a hub or whatever.

I'm sure the game is fun if you started up on the first day, made money with no competition, and expanded quickly. There is always an airline that owns the major cities who has connections and pricing power to kill off the little new guy on the route.

I would consider lowering it to maybe 15 days, cause if you're absent for longer than that, then you're not really playing it.

I joined Airline Mogul today and have been doing it now for about 3 days (in the game), but because I've messed about with it and played around I'm over £-760,000 in debt and only have one aircraft a DC3 which was on the game. Is it possible to get a loan to get more aircraft? Or is there a way of getting more planes as at this rate I should break even in 20 years time by which time the game will have stopped.

Any help would be appreciated
