So, a few friends and I have been in discussions of opening a VA, since the one we currently "reside" at is becoming more and more like the 1940's German Nazi party.  duck
Anyhow, our idea is this.
Take any airport you want, take whatever plane you want, and fly to wherever you want, within reason.
Reason meaning, you're not gonna go LGW to SFO in a C172. I thought the idea of having 'any' plane might be a bit much for my repainting skills, so I've set a list of 'Grand Opening Jets', to get us started.

Each plane has it's own name, similar to B6. N80XD will be "Win-Win Situation", and so on. Some names will be after songs & hubs "Jet City Woman" "Detroit Rock City", etc. A few will be dedicated to people within the past/present airline world. Onto the list!

(Sidenote: Some of my pilots are the AvB people, so to keep things fair, I've made the list pretty much even on that side.

12x - B732. N80-N92XD
5x - B738. N93-N98XD
12x - A318. N100-N110XD
5x- A320. N320-N327XD
3x A300B4. N111-N114XD
2x B742QC, on lease. No registration data at current.
4x B773, N773-N777XD
6x A345, N340-N346XD
6x A333, N333-N339XD
1x MD-11F, N800XD
5x MD-88, N885-N890XD

That's the mainline fleet.

Smaller:
15x E170, special theme. TBD
10x CRJ2, N400-N410XD
5x SF34 OR Q200
3x C208
3x LJ45

Now that that's out of the way..  duck  Hubs/Focus Cities/Crew Bases/whateveryouwanttocallthem, set by region, not by specific city. Managers will be responsible for all hubs within their global region (USA, CAN, etc)

3x USA (PIT, DCA, SMF)
1x CAN (YUL)
3x EU (LGW, DUS, CDG)
2x Asia (BEJ, SIN)
1x AUS (MEL)

Alright, time for a name. Personally I've been fond of WinAir, simply because of the name. Other suggestions:
Best Bet (Play off of Best Buy), Global Hemispheres, Konexa (Connects' Ya), iNSPIRE, and last but not least, Eclipse.
So far, WinAir and Konexa are in the lead. Suggest one if you like!

Livery

I had a good design before my laptop decided to eat it's hard drive.  crazy  It was kind of a throwback to the 40's/50s, white fuselage, silver belly (Kind of like Piedmont), dark blue/grey cheatline, dark grey tail with a simple logo.
(I was out of ideas. D: If you have an idea, suggest it pleeeease.)

So, think it could work? If this idea were pitched to you, would you join to try? If not, what would you change/suggest/add/remove?

Something awful.

I've changed things up a bit.
WinAir would be the mainline "Legacy" airline. iNSPIRE is the LCC "Airline-within-an-airline", based sort of off of Zip/AC. Konexia is the European LCC, in base to compete with EZY/FR. Service remains the same, as does the frequent flier system. Only change is, the 732/738 would be based in the US/CAN, and the A319/A321 would be based in Europe. I'm still trying to come up with a name for the regionals (E/ERJ/CRJ/DH/SF, etc)..

Something awful.

Flying an aeroplane with only a single propeller to keep you in the air. Can you imagine that? -Capt. Picard

Ahh, you're the PGH Air guy.  rotfl  Nice to meet 'ya.
And the now closed WNA was the spot that gave me the idea, and I'm full aware of the Caribbean WinAir.  yes  I'm sure with an air-tight disclaimer, and absolutely no likeness, they won't care.
Plus, it'd probably be free advertisement..  scratchchin

Something awful.
