Fantasies are nice, but how about some "real world" carrier landings and take-offs with big airplanes?

Check out the video at the bottom of the link for an impressive feat pulled off by the C-130 back in 1963. Didn't even need arresting cables for landing or catapult for take-offs.

I try these landings quite often, and am rarely successful. The only method which gives me a sort of consistent landing is to do what is done in the movie of the C-130. I come in full-flaps, at the lowest speed I can without stalling, along the long axis of the deck, and go full thrust reverse just before I touch down.
