Hello everyone,
I just want to start a little poll about the most spectacular airports of the world. If there should be a similar thread like this, please close this one. I also want to start a little project on FS9, that deals with airports which have approaches which really challenge the pilot.
I will start with my favourite airport in that category and that is definately SBH because of the diving shortly before the landing on runway 10 and of course the short runway.

Treat yourself with a little present and buy aerosoft's LUKLA scenery, now take your DHC6 or Beech 1900 and make a visual approach, you'll be definately impressed.
Also try Jomson also in Nepal (good freeware available).
Another great one is ENHV way up north in Norway with a KAITAK-like approach , excellent freeware package available with 50 other Norwegian airports as superbly executed freeware.
Soo many more to go I can keep typing for hours in a row

SBH: Amazing Island, The Caribbean is great, Nice small Airport and SBH is my initials.
Courchevel a winter Mountain version of St. Barths.
INN the location is amazing in the mountains.
DCA: So close to the capital, river approach is amazing, a true domestic airport for the US capital.
There are so many more but these four come to mind first.

I think there are several less known airports in Alaska that get over looked just because of the lack of commercial traffic. I have many interesting shots of some of the airports we fly into some of which are Dutch Harbor, Sand Point, Unalakleet just to name a few!

Alaska is indeed a wonderfull and challenging place to fly in FS (and reality I guess).
Thx to Holger and his buddies there exists an amazing freeware package (called Glacier Bay) which contains many airports that require some special attention.
Other good ones in MSFS are
-MHTG (Honduras) excellent freeware available (need MESH files for Honduras also to make it better).
-SEQU (Quito/Equador) freeware available (also install good MESH package).
-SETU idem see above.
-many other ones in Ecuador
-SBSP and SBRJ 2 airports in Sao Paulo and Rio best served with baby bus or 737 family, good free and payware packages available.
-LPMA (Madeira) again good free and payware packages available
-SABA
-LSGS (Sion /CH) Excellent freeware available , nice approach and take off's with RJ type planes (I use WILCO's ERJ )
-LSZS (Samedan/CH) see above.
-LIPA (Bolzano) ITALY
-EFKA (Faroer-islands) good freeware available.
-Helgoland (nice with aero design's AC680) freeware available but also aerosoft's superb helgoland scenery.
-ALTIPORTS France (COURCHEVEL,...) need decent MESH files.
-...
Soo many more, I must have more than 3000 free and payware airports (total +/- 80GB scenery alone) but before installing them I always check if there is a good MESH file available for the surrounding area because that makes it really worthwhile.
