I suggest: http://www.airplaneshop.com
If you are in the NY/NJ area (US), they have a small shop at JFK and a larger one in Fairfield NJ.
In honesty, it can be somewhat annoying that most of the graphics on their web site don't work. But nonetheless they are a good outfit.

The Airplane Shop at JFK was closed a couple of months ago. They are now only in Fairfield, NJ.

Lax,
I don't know what i should go for Herpa Wings or Schabak. I'd like to go in for some Md-11's & A340. Just an Air India 747-400 Schabak. Which one would you suggest?

You can get models of Delta (and old Pan Am and Western aircraft) at the Flight Station website. www.flightstation.com You can order AirTran models through their compane store at www.airtran.com Many airline websites have links to online shops featuring models of their aircraft.

hp340.........
Sorry, I don't collect either Herpa or Schabek. Don't particularly like either of them.
I have several Dragon Wings & Geminis, plus lots of the plastic snap-fit Long Prospers (aka Flight Miniatures; Cottonwood, AZ).
I think I recently purchased my ULTIMATE L.P. plastic model......The Singapore Tropical 744 (reg. 9V-SPL).
Very nice looking. Get this one.
From D.W., get any of their B747 models (nice detail and realistic gear). The Air Force One is one of my faves. Also got the SIA Tropical in DW.

Be extra diligent when buying models directly from an airline. I have found that a lot of them come from Flight Miniatures which can be kind of cheap looking.
