Quoting WILCO737 (Reply 1): I wouldnt even consider a take off or a landing during a hurricane Big grin
I remember when I was in flight training and there was a day after a cold front had come through and most instructors and students were canceling their flights left and right due to wind. I yanked out my A-6, did the math, and while the X-wind was just under max for the POH, I was able to take it to the chief flight instructor and got permission to fly.
Now that being said, (talking cat 1-MAYBE 2) I'd honestly be more worried about taxiing in a hurricane then anything else so long as the crosswind component was within limits.
