Lufthansa sells seats:

No first class seats at the moment though. Plus, I don't know if they will sell outside of Europe.

When Mythbusters needs airliner seats, I think these are the folks they go to:

I'd start with thier sales department, tell 'em what you want, and why you want it, and see what they say.

What may be helpful for people is to tell us what is the average cost of these old seats? Can't be a whole lot, ¿no? I was interested in buying it as furniture for my balcony.

thanks guys.

i did a search and found a thread from a few years back but all the suggestions they gave were to talk to people who are out of business.

does anyone know if there are any surplus stores that might allow you to actually see what you are buying before you buy it? i'm thinking that maybe somewhere around an old boneyard or near a manufacturing facility there might be some old junkyard type of place.

my fear is that you can see the seats online, but you can't touch them or, more importantly, SMELL them!
