Hi,
Good news for us on the 744. PMDG will bring all the new FSX 744 features to the FS9 744, with a update called 1.20
There are some including me who bought the FSX version only to get some of its fixes for the FS9 version, bringing the FS9 744 to version 1.12 which i currently operate.
The FSX 744 will recieve some new fixes that the new FS9 update will also include bringing it up to version 2.10
This will be a full update meaning a whole installer, and not just a partial upgrade.
Here the FS9 744 fixes and new features:
(Note the list includes changes already included in the 1.12 update for those who have it already)
CHANGE LIST FOR FS9 VERSION 1.20:
=================================
1) GPWS Altitude callouts now heard irrespective of gear position
2) Fuel entry box now editable by hand to enter values manually
3) Improved engine spool inertial delta to improve autothrottle handling of high energy changes.
4) Corrected flaw in outboard aileron lockout system logic.
5) Improved LNAV propensity to correct XTRK errors.
6) Improved LNAV handling of course tracking in various scenarios.
7) Corrected logic for CWT L/R and STAB L/R pump switch PRESS lights.
8) Corrected EGT Limit bar behavior during engine start.
9) Corrected Fuel On index bar behavior during engine start.
10) Corrected incorrect logic preventing VREF election for return to field prior to climb/cruise.
11) PROG page opens to 1/3 correctly .
12) Tightened autopilot roll logic to improve lateral tracking behavior in turbulence.
13) XTRK error correctly populates rather than remaining blank.
14) Updated EPR modeling on PW/RR engines to reflect more accurate values.
15) PW/RR EPR less than 1.00 ram effect model based on dynamic pressure and throttle position.
16) CLB thrust reduction now correctly senses flap lever position rather than flap angle.
17) Modified EGT behavior during shutdown to incorporate more realistic temps/behaviors.
18) PMDG Options "TCAS Show All Traffic" setting now ignores Above/N/Below switch in order to show
all traffic. (Above/N/Below switch still functions correctly if "all traffic" is not selected.
19) Corrected behavior of GPWS Gear Override Switch.
20) Considerable changes to handling of soft constraints in VNAV climb/descent. (Should fix occasional
problems with UNABLE NEXT ALT logic and calcualtion of ToD when the first waypoint after ToD is soft.
21) Improved Direct-To maneuvering algorithm with LNAV engaged.
22) Changed sequencing criteris for flyover-type waypoints to improve flyover performance.
Here the FSX 744 list:
CHANGES INCLUDED WITH THE VERSION 2.10 UPDATE:
==============================================
1) Fixed Crash-To-Desktop when exiting from 747-400X Freighter version
2) Significantly improved Save/Load state for saved flights / start situations
3) Fixed case where ILS radio frequency did not reload after load saved state
4) Fixed rare Crash-To-Desktop under certain CDU window resize scenario
5) Fixed erroneous brake temp indication when SimConnect Brake Indication values
were erroneously returned for fractional brake pressure settings.
6) Updated Virtual Cockpits to include a clickable TOGA hotspot on the MCP. (mouseover screw)
7) Corrected right main landing gear brake assignment.
8) Improved speedbrake logic to prevent accidental trip of autobrakes if FSX erroneously
reads the spoiler handle as DOWN. (Handle DOWN will correctly disconnect autobrakes)
9) Improved engine spool inertial delta to improve autothrottle handling of high energy changes.
10) Corrected flaw in outboard aileron lockout system logic.
11) Improved LNAV propensity to correct XTRK errors.
12) Improved LNAV handling of course tracking in various scenarios.
13) General cleanup of some animations in the VC (window shades, etc)
14) Corrected static knob settings for Air Data, FMC, Flight Director knobs on F/O side of cockpit.
15) Corrected logic for CWT L/R and STAB L/R pump switch PRESS lights.
16) Corrected EGT Limit bar behavior during engine start.
17) Corrected Fuel On index bar behavior during engine start.
18) Corrected incorrect logic preventing VREF election for return to field prior to climb/cruise.
19) PROG page opens to 1/3 correctly .
20) Tightened autopilot roll logic to improve lateral tracking behavior in turbulence.
21) XTRK error correctly populates rather than remaining blank.
22) Corrected 400 Passenger model SPEC mapping texture.
23) Updated EPR modeling on PW/RR engines to reflect more accurate values.
24) PW/RR EPR less than 1.00 ram effect model based on dynamic pressure and throttle position.
25) CLB thrust reduction now correctly senses flap lever position rather than flap angle.
26) Modified EGT behavior during shutdown to incorporate more realistic temps/behaviors.
27) PMDG Options "TCAS Show All Traffic" setting now ignores Above/N/Below switch in order to show
all traffic. (Above/N/Below switch still functions correctly if "all traffic" is not selected.)
28) Corrected behavior of GPWS Gear Override Switch.
29) Eliminated silly FSX tire vapor animations in rain/snow
30) Changed the way FMS reads SID/STAR files to ensure soft constraints (A/B) are properly read.
31) Considerable changes to handling of soft constraints in VNAV climb/descent. (Should fix occasional
problems with UNABLE NEXT ALT logic and calcualtion of ToD when the first waypoint after ToD is soft.)
32) Improved Direct-To maneuvering algorithm with LNAV engaged.
33) Changed sequencing criteria for flyover-type waypoints to improve flyover performance.
Though I don't use FSX at all, I am still looking forward to that update on the PMDG for FS9! And I will download it as soon it is available!
Thanks for the info!

Do I have to pay USD$50 for the update - or is it free?
I'm not much into 747 flying in FS9 because the 747 takes ages to go anywhere - but it's always a good one to demonstrate to flight-simulator sceptics.

Quoting David L (Reply 4): There was one that was significantly faster. Smile
Bingo! A lot more fun too. I'm always impressed at just how well that Concorde flies.
It looks like PMDG have corrected or included pretty much everything I could have wished for in the 747. I've avoided FSX for now since it performed only average on my PC at first. When we get 'old pointy' going in FSX, I'll move over completely.
Quoting WILCO737 (Reply 5):
Well, yeah, if you refer to the Concorde! Sure, she WAS a lot faster indeed!
But why not using the 16x acceleration on FS Big grin
Real time for my flights. I don't use these acceleration or "pause at top of descent" features.
