Yea, it seems like the AirlinerXP folks have disappeared off the face of the earth. Last I've heard they are still working on it. When it will be released is a big question mark. Air Simmer has no firm release date either but from what I've gathered from their forums, it will be either at the end of this year or the beginning of next year.

I have the WILCO A320 and use it on FS9. I personally think that it is very realistic, even more realistic than the PSS offering (however we must remember that the PSS model is much older so I don't mean to attack PSS).
Now I've heard a lot of negative comments about this package but after buying their 737 classics (which I liked) and seeing a seemingly lack of process with the two above mentioned A320s I decided to buy it and I don't regret it. Sure when the others come out they might be better but I've been using the WILCO A320 for like a year now and it wasn't that expensive to begin with.
Ultimately its up to you, everyone has his/her own opinion, but I am personally pleased with them. If you do get them I suggest downloading the replacement VC night textures, you can find a link in the feelthere forums.

The PSS Airbus was very good for it's day, but that was a long time ago...
The Wilco/FeelThere packages are the best Airbus currently available for FS9. Wilco/FeelThere get lots of negative comments on the various FS forums, and much of it is rightly deserved. Their Airbus packages aren't in the same league as PMDG or Level D, but they are much more sophisticated than the likes of CLS. Also bear in mind they don't feature the A340-200 or -500. The visual models aren't great either and there aren't so many repaints available. If you can live with losing the VC and are savvy with merging aircraft you can replace the FeelThere models with much better ones either commercial or freeware. For the A318/19/20/21 I use the old IFDG models that are still great and have an enormous number of repaints available, and for the A330/40 I use the fantastic models from Overland (commercial addon) with the equally fantastic repaints by Tom Collins, available on Avsim.
As I said the Wilco/FeelThere packages are the best available right now, but come with the following caveat emptor - the customer support is shameful, the visual models aren't the best available and have limited repaints, and the documentation is pretty poor compared to other developers.
AirlinerXP - announced last year and has since been delayed indefinitely. The reason being one of the key developers has apparently left the project. The other developers are being very tight lipped about the whole situation which has no doubt caused them great embarassment after the fanfare and hype it was announced with last year.
There is another Airbus in development from a Russian group, I can't remember the name now, but like AirlinerXP they have been very quiet for a very long time now which makes you wonder as to the status of the project.

For wide body Airbus models I found the Project Opensky versions excellent. Add the IFDG A320s and you have some pretty good freeware there.
I rarely use some of the really complex payware a/c. The quality of some freeware designs (especially if you take the trouble to load realistic panel and sound files) at least matches that of some the better payware packages. Having said that PMDG are really something special.

Just wanted to add there's also the Eric Marciano freeware A320 and A330 panels which work very nicely with the Ifdg A320/A319/A321 models. There's also side views available and add a soundset even if desired. It's not up with Pmdg etc. by any means but I really like it because it definitely gives the feeling of not flying a Boeing and flying something quite different (something with "Airbus" logic for lack of a better term!).
His web page is: http://emarciano.free.fr/. (I'm not sure if the panels are still downloadable there but they're still around in various packages at Virtual Airlines I think if not or I have them here too if interested/required).
Hope it might help a little (if looking for freeware/something less complex too),

I have wilcos/feelthere Airbus A320 series, and i think its good compared to some others, the Fly by Wire has been modelled really brilliantly in my opinion, not that im a airbus pilot but from reading and watching videos demonstrating how FBW works they have done well,
Ultimately i think PMDG's A320 will knock them all flat,
