OK it's official, my flight sim needs a make over! I love flying and aircraft that I fly are not a problem at all. What is, is the realism of the whole experience. I have looked through peoples screenshots and videos on youtube and I am looking at certain products which will help me get more from flying.
I have to admit I know nothing about AI traffic and/or how it works but it would be really good to start seeing airports busier with real airlines. Are there any programs out there which takes out the complications of digging through file after file to get traffic that isn't made up?
Secondly, scenery. My airports are defult, as is the land I fly over. Can anybody reccomend scenery products which will bring my airports to life? Eg airbridges, ground cars, catering trucks etc? I noticed one person even had trucks and cars driving around the permiter of the airport and down city streets?! The only place I get driven is up the wall when I go back to flying in the land of the dead!
Sorry if all this seems very basic stuff, I just need a little shove in the right direction and really make my flight sim as real as it gets.

First, if your computer is powerful enough, go to the display settings and put all the sliders all the way to the right. (or as far right as you can decently push them while keeping your computer alive).
If you want freeware: see www.avsim.com (haven't visited it since the library is back up - see other threads around here), www.flightsim.com (both of these require a free user account), simviation.com .

I always just download free scenery off Avsim or Flightsim.com whenever I'm flying somewhere new. Or if you don't want to use scenery, you can jsut download AFCADs which just add more gates & spaces to your "dead" airports. And I use WOAI, it's brilliant.

Download some scenery from Avsim.com and/or Flightsim.com. Pick your favorite spot or a far away place to fly. As others have said, I was much like you, wasn't into AI because it was too complicated but I found World of AI about a year ago and it has changed my flying experience! It does all the installing for you.
I also recommend FS Passengers: http://www.fspassengers.com This will make it feel like you have an acutal flight with real people flying along!

Thank you for your advice to date, I have downloaded a couple of airports now so once i've installed them that hopefully should be a good move forward. As for AI, I am trying to locate that world of AI program, yet the website www.worldofai.com doesn't seem to work? Can this be downloaded or purchased from any other sites?

Thank you for all your help since this topic started, I now have some realistic looking airports and have cracked one way around the AI issue with the use of World of AI. Very simple to use At least now when i'm flying i'm not on my own and I have real airlines around - thanks!
