Good Day fellow simmers..
I have an annoying issue that I hope someone out there can solve.
I have the PMDG 747-400 for FSX. Having programmed the FMC and enabled the ILS for dedicated runway in NAV/RAD, I seem always to experience the same thing on approach:
when selecting LOC the marker seems first to move towads the center as it should.. but it doesnt stop there, it always move slightly to left.. meaning that my aricraft always seems to enter final approach to the runway slightly right on the centerline. The result is that my right maingear touchdown just outside the Runway .. I dont really understand why the marker can't stay in correct position. I wonder is there anything I forgot?
Also having problems with animation e.g. the cargo door (front door).. I can assign keyboard command but nothing happens.. also when I exit the sim and start again, all my keyboard assigments are deleted..strange
I got windows Vista 64 bit, i7 o/c to 3,6 Ghz, 12 GB ram and a GTX285

It's very odd because if the scenery has changed and the ILS not moved, the a/c shud be showing as bang on the LOC. It just seems to accept the half dot deviation. Do as they suggest above. If that doesn't work, have a browse on PMDG forums...
Me: (Lining up on final) I shall now select an aiming point. || Instructor: Well, I hope it's the runway...

I seem to remember reading something on PMDG's forum about the LOC being off if your FSX registry entries are messed up. Can't guarantee this is your issue, as I have FS9 only, but I think that you may find your problem fixed if you run the free Flight1 Registry Repair tool, found here: http://www.flight1software.com/files/FS_Registry_Repair.exe
Hope this helps you get that beautiful Queen of the Skies flying right on LOC and GS as it should! Please post back and let me know how it's worked out.

Hi everyone,
I'd like to thank all for the input and especially Midcon385 for coming up with the magic solution. I can report after executing the repair tool I was able to nail the centerline eventhough I had a 15 knots crosswind from right!! You make my day!!! hehe

Yeah..
I tried both with engines on and off (but with APU on).. no success unfortunately.. so I guess their must be another reason for that error. But I can live with that.. the important thing was to land the PMDG 747 on the centerline..

"To operate the main deck cargo doors, you must have either APU GEN2 or EXT PWR2 showing as AVAIL. Please consult your operating manual (Chapter 13, page 10) for more information. "

Outstanding, Anders! I'm thrilled to hear that this quick fix works for you, so that you can get back to fully enjoying flying the Queen.

That is accurate. Note that the important part is AVAIL, not active. For example, request your external power connection, and connect EXT PWR 1 up, but leave #2 in AVAIL mode, open or close your cargo doors as necessary, then connect up the EXT PWR 2.

Quoting Emirates2005 (Reply 13): Just joking, fantastic system. bigthumbsup Am currently looking at the same specs. Which brand is yours? What is your impression of it running FSX?
and most importantly.. how much did the comp cost? would like to know how much I need to save up to buy such a monster... :P

Quoting Emirates2005 (Reply 15): That high a system... count with US$2,500 and above. I have seen a few and none of them goes below US$3,000.
Okay... That's probably a little over my budget.. maybe sometime next year
Quoting Emirates2005 (Reply 15):
The one I am looking at has the same specs as Embraer170 has with a 160GB SATA as C-drive; 250GB SATA as D-drive and a 1TB SATA for everything else.

I bought a system they overclocked since I don't consider myself handy with these kind of things. I think spent a fortune, hehe.. around 22.000 sek , more then 3000 usd.. and of top of that I bought a 23 inch LG monitor.. well, FSX is goooood .. but I dont have that amazing fluent feeling I expected. Especially when you encounter lots of autogen the FPS drops.. if I fly with the default cessna I'll exprience appr 30-40 fps-- with the PMDG 747 its appr 16-22 fps at airports and outside view.. if you choose the VC FPS will drop down to appr 12 fps !
I realized that this is not because of sloppy hardware when I installed Rise of Flight... Thats was amazing! I wished FSX could have had the same kind of graphic engine. Rise of Flight goes like a movie which you are participating in!!!! Wonderful. The only bad thing is I end up getting shot down every time.
