Hi
Does anyone know of any up and coming pay ware add-on aircraft on its way for FSX? I know in the distance (a line distance) PMDG is redoing their wonderful Boeing 737NG series of aircraft – but are there any other companies out there planning anything new? Level-D?
I did hear at one point of a company producing an Airbus A320, but I lost the website!
If anyone knows of any (even if they are still months/years away) please let me know what type and where to find them.

Airsimmer is making an A320. I don't know when it's due out. But it looks to be a very high end simulation on par with PMDG..

I hope so.
I understand the issue with building Airbus aircraft for FS is that Airbus are not as helpful in releasing information as Boeing is. I must admit I would be suprised if it was as good as PMDG, but I hope to God that someone finally can produce an Airbus aircraft for FS that is good and stable!

I suspect the Airbus "issue" is more to do with how differently FBW Airbuses behave from the way MSFS expects them to. I didn't see any mention of the information having been hard to get.

Having followed the development and seen the videos, I wouldn't. As long as it sees the light of day, it will be superb.

I should have added that the AirSimmer 320 will be released for FS9 first and FSX later - presumably because FSX didn't exist when they started development and the FS9 version can't just be recompiled/converted for FSX.

Who knows when it will finaly come out, but Alphasim is wouking on a C-17 thats said to be pretty high end. Not to the PMDG level but a better flight deck than any other military aircraft. (Other than Falcon 4.0 )

I can add that all the developper groups have finally understood most of the FSX specific secrets, are working very hard now on exclusively FSX products and the next two years will see bunches of great products, from bush planes over GA, military up to the big irons. Just check simflight regularily, they have almost all the product on sales.

The jump in "technology" between FS9 and FSX certainly seems to have hindered 3rd party development. On the plus side, the apparent hold in FS development (and let's hope that's all it is) should allow more time for 3rd party developers to catch up.

Exactly. It took about 2 years until the addon market for FSX became bigger then the one for FS9, and just now after 3 years the FS9 market disappears. ( Below 10% ).
Making an addon for FSX is more complex than making it for FS9, so the last thing we could need is another Flight Simulator within the next 3 or 4 years.

I was speaking with several aircraft developers last weekend in Paderborn. The general conclusion is that many internal functions in MSFS about airliners are very Boeing specific hard coded, so that Airbus specific solutions cannot be implemented. This will need a completely new simulator, not based on any Microsoft code.

I don't know about FSX but AirSimmer seem to have got around that in FS9, though they have apparently had to do a lot of their own programming "outside" of MSFS.

When will the Airsimmer A320 be available? I am amazed to be quite honest. I am not an Airbus fan really "I live by the saying if its not Boeing I'm not going " but this simulator looks great! Thanks for sharing it with us.

The Alpha Sim C-17 has been released. The VC/Panel still needs to be polished and will be released in about a month in a free update.

As I have said in another thread it is my belief that those figures are distorted by dual compatibility software sales being assumed to be exclusively for FSX use. Many of us out here have bought new products that are FSX & FS9 compatible but solely use them in FS9.
I am very encouraged to see Airsimmers are going to launch their A320 as both FSX and FS9 versions.
Developers who think FS9 is dead and buried are simply not listening to the market.

Well PMDG released their BAe JS4100. Supposedly they are going to make a Dash 8 along with the 737NGX. www.precisionmanuals.com
Captain Sim released the 767. If you like their products then that will be a plus for you! www.captainsim.com
Wilco redid their ERJ series and released both FS9 and FSX models. I might consider that. www.wilcopub.com
Carenado is working on a Beech Bonanza which seems promising. They also just released a Piper Saratoga for FSX. If you enjoy flying GA airplanes, like myself, check them out. www.carenado.com
Dream Fleet was supposed to be working on a DC-8, but it seems like they may have gone under. I hate to assume, but it sure seems like it. www.dreamfleet2000.com
