Auto-pilot Landing In FSX?

I've been downloading a Airbus 340-600 to my FSX and I'm trying to get it to auto-land but it just won't seem to work. Can someone please tell me how to do it.

Next flights: ARN-LHR-IAD on BA 319/VS343 EWR-LHR-ARN on VS346/BA319

You can't unless the plane came with its own specially configured autopilot settings (nearly impossible to find in freeware). Otherwise they just use the FS9/FSX default autopilot logic, which is useless for autolands.

Payware products like PMDG do have that capability.

As FLY2HMO says, it's unlikely that a full auto-land is possible with the add-on. However, the Approach mode should still guide the aircraft down the glideslope, leading to a "descent on to the runway" rather than an auto-landing. Can you you get it to do that or is that the part you're having trouble with?

That's very my problem is. It just ignores it and keeps flying.

You have to properly capture the localizer and glideslope or it won't work.

If you need someone to blame / throw a rock in the air / you'll hit someone guilty

More importantly, the LOC should be captured BEFORE the GS, otherwise the autopilot will not follow the GS when it intercepts it.
