My problem is that i can acess the main area i.e were you choose the plane and airport and that kinda of stuff, but when i click fly now i gives me a black screen and the only thing that happens is that a black screen shows up and then i wait and have to end the program since it is not responding. What should i do. i re-installed it because i had to restore my computer since some freeware messed it up.

Are you sure that the (partial) mess up is gone, so did you check that the FSX main folder got deleted, the all user profile and your own user profile of FSX got removed?
How long did you wait. The first FSX startup can take up to 10 minutes on a system with bad fragmentation or a slow disk, FSX not resonding in this time since it builds up.
Another idea might be that your system has problems to go to the Full Screen mode, or wants to issue a message that displays behind the full screen ( in this case you do not see the message and the system waits for you to click OK to a message that might be easy to fix. Since FSX runs full screen with effectively half resolution of windowed only anyways, try to start in windowed mode...
If this does not help, ask the question with some more details on a dedicated FSX forlum like the one at flightsim.com.

What are your system specs? It sounds like you don't have enough memory to run it.

Quoting Burkhard (Reply 4): FSX does run on much lower hardware...
Indeed, as my system is almost exactly half of his!

I am an FSX player , rather than FS2004, but I find every so often that my game crashes randomly- Lets say every 2 hours.
My specs are:
Nvidea 9800 GTX
4 G RAM
Could this be a problem related to the hard drive?

Different problem here.....is anyone running FSX on Windows 7? I can't get it to fill my screen. It loads, planes fly okay, but the screen only loads in the middle. It kind of looks like letterbox format, but there are black bars on the sides.

Check your screen resolution, I use 1440x900x32.
If your screen resolution is too low, this may cause resolution problems with the default screen resolution on the PC.
