I find this exciting!

http://forums1.avsim...opic=272958&hl=

A 747-8i and -8F model that will use the same flight characteristics as the -400 (for the time being) released before the end of the month, the NGX 737, the Dash-8 and what I've been waiting for for a very very long time, a PMDG 777!!!

Unfortunately it looks like they are steering away from FS9 so I'm going to have to "get with the times" and make the switch to FSX.

Has there been any announcement of the NGX 737 release? I have also been waiting for this to drop it into my FSX program!

B737, B757, B777 and a Dash-8 on top of that at the very best. I'd personally be satisfied with only one of them.

By the way. The link does not work. Try this.

And the fastest airliner of all is also coming to FSX in an all new version. It'll be worth the wait.

Can hardly wait for a PMDG B777-300/ER. That would be awesome, as would a B777-200/LR and B777-200ER (Rolls Royce).

Are we having a new Tu-144 made? Or are you referring to a current fastest airliner? I am being confused  Smile

Yeah I remember that also. Strange huh? AirlinerXP's Airbus project seems to have gone that way a while back also.

Am waiting to see what people think of the AirSimmer A320 when they release the advanced package.

Any information related FS9 compatibility for the next PMDG projects?

You didn't read my message well enough. Big grin I deliberately worded it because I knew that someone would say SR-71, and that someone else would say TU-144 - so I deliberately worded my message to exclude them. Big grin

Anyhow, it's Concorde. Good that we have the computer power to run FSX fast now - because otherwise, it would have been very difficult to fly such a fast plane (and have graphics redrawing keep up).

I'm really liking the line-up of quality addons that are coming soon.  Smile

The Dash-8 was a play on words. It'll actually be the "747 Dash Eight", ie, the 747-8. The turboprop one will be quite a long time away.

Actually it sounds like it will be the 747-8, apparently before the end of the month, then the 737 NG, then the Bombardier Dash-8 then the 777.

At first notice of this announcement I installed FSX and spent the last few days reading up on it and tweaking it. FSDreamteam KORD, 80% Ultimate Traffic 2 traffic, no settings below "high" and I get about 20 to 25 fps on approach using the 747-400X, which is apparently terribly hard on framerates. (I have them limited to 30 and with the default 744 it just stays at 30) They said the 747-8 has had tweaking done to it to get better FPS, so here's hoping.

My system is nothing to scream about either, Core 2 Quad Q6600, 4GB of PC-6400 (DDR2 800) and a GTS 250 1gb vid card.

I'm just very happy it works. Plus after installing REX2, FSX looks gooooooooooooooood.  Smile

Hmmm.... I wonder what the 2 unannounced projects are????

Can't wait for the 777 now the 737NGX is up and running, i'm guessing that they will at least do the 777-300ER as that is the "Newest" bird of the family, as they did with the 737 and 747 series!

I seem to recall back in 2005 or 2006, I'm sure I heard something about PMDG doing an A320 with people speculating that the A330 (or A340) would follow. I think I went to follow that up about a year or two later and the information had vanished.

It could also be a case of me getting my wires crossed as 2005 was a long time ago for me now, but I have to say, I have been wanting for as long as I can remember, a PMDG Quality (or even something that came close) Airbus package.

Not 100% sure of the publishers name but I think it is simslab is doing a good A320. A good quality Airbus would be nice but I would rather see A) a 787. B) A classic by PMDG which they say they are not going to do since they dont sell well but man would I love a classic 742 or 727 or DC-10 from PMDG. C) Something like FSPAX, I think that would be #1 on my list. FSPassengers has really gone down with little to no support. It is a great idea and just imagine what the folks at PMDG could do with that.

Since all the 777s are new I would imagine they will do just about them all, maybe not the 777-200 but. 300ER, 200F, 200LR, 200ER maybe even the plain 200 and 300 models. Looks like they will do just about all the NG's variants even including the rare 700ER

If you are thinking FlightSimLabs, they are actually the PMDG people who left PMDG to pursue (among others) A320 as a different entity. Now I am not sure how much this is true, or if there exists a shared knowledge base between FSLabs and PMDG, but I will not put my money on anyone, not even PMDG, to make a really worthy A320 rendition, especially after AirSimmer fiasco.
Which is a shame, really, since A320 Family is the only one in the short-medium range jet family without a decent rendition. 737NG is of course the best covered with PMDG NGX and iFly currently dividing business, MD80 by Leonardo is more than good, and the Russian workhorse Tu-154 by Project Tupolev is often called the best freeware of all time (AND certified by OKB Tupolev - so you are in fact simming, not playing games)

But it seems that Airbus systems are hard, if not impossible to model properly, add to that rather dismissive attitude to simming by Airbus Industrie, and I am not really surprised by the fact.

Indeed. With so many computers on board and so many things which work side by side and being checked and observed by the computers it is a very hard job. Even in real life the pilots don't always know what's going on or where did the famous Airbus quite came from: "What is he doing now? He never did that before!"

What i ment with "Newest" is that the did the 747-400 first, in the NGX they did the 738/739 - first and so on, so i surely hope that the first PMDG 777 is the 300ER version!
