Well once again, the last thread was getting a bit lengthy due to all of the FANTASTIC participation from all of you guys and gals. I figured since the last one was tri-jets, we would continue on with four-holers...ok - here we go!

What better airplane to start off the quad-jets than the 747-8i

That is sooo awesome! I'm doing a POSKY/PMDG 747 merge as soon as they release their 747-8, since I can't run FSX on my PC! I love that thing.

OK- I say that if it's a jet-PROP, it qualifies as at quad-jet. Plus, the C-130 is just plain bad-@$$. So, I'm attempting to land the Herc on an aircraft carrier just outside of KSAN.

That sucker musta had one badass tailhook!

Well.... I actually requested the BAe146 on deck. The AN-124 request was an IM I sent you 3 days ago!
Frankly, I got tired of waiting for you Batman, so I decided to do it myself !

My plan was to beat Batman to the draw with a carrier based 7-four shot. First, I needed a Carrier so I logged on to FSfreeware and downloaded a carrier. While I was there, also downloaded an FS scenery texture enhancement.
I figured KLGB and the Long Beach Naval Shipyards would be a good place to find a carrier. I flew all over from LB to San Pedro and couldn't' find a single carrier! Then I set the ships and ferries slider to the max and reset the time and day and voila! So now, I'm landing an AS-350B-2, the carrier isn't moving, piece of cake, right? Nope. You can't land on an Ai carrier. At least not this one. The aircraft goes right through it. I know, I know, most of you are thinking "wadda dumbass" but I haven't been all the way around the FS block yet.

Even dumber, I thought maybe I could do it using the mission where you land the R-22 on a carrier. Stooopid ! You can't change aircraft in a mission.

On a positive note, sometimes screwing up can be entertaining. I must have botched the texture enhancement installation. Ever seen a Nimitz class lawnmower?

83 EDICHC : I think it's an A320 the Aussies send down there. the RNZAF are sending down a 757 next month.
84 Post contains images THEBATMAN : My goodness, Granite...these shots are absolutely gorgeous!!! When I grow up, I wanna be just like you!
85 Post contains links and images THEBATMAN : Just posted this in the other thread, but it definitely belongs in the quad-jet department...

88 GingerSnap : Very nice Dingus! I'll hopefully get some 747 classics up soon.
89 Post contains images aerdingus : Thanks It came out a bit weird cos I edited it on Photobucket but sure ah well. Looking forward to the 747s.
90 Post contains links and images GingerSnap : I meant to say that I had only tried the Flightcraft A346 just a couple of times. Your doing better than me if you can fly it...as I couldn't get my h
91 Post contains images Cro55fire : Great shots, my friend. Those addons really help getting the most out of FS9, you've pretty much pushed the FS9 engines to the limit. In the past I w
92 Post contains images GingerSnap : Yeah I keep trying to see how far I can push it before it gets ridiculous. I had a Quad-Core cpu, but only a 9800GT gpu. However, with the processing
93 aerdingus : Thanks, it did take me a while to figure everything out! Beautiful 747 pics.
94 Post contains images Cro55fire : I have a Sony laptop with c2d 2.4Ghz, 4Gb Ram and 9600GT M...far from a dream setup, but it does the job pretty well, considering all the extra addon
95 Post contains links and images GingerSnap : Your comments are so very true, and so very much WIN. So all I'm flying at the moment is the CLS 747. Finally just completed an LH 742 flight, from I
96 Post contains links and images THEBATMAN : Another gorgeous 747...a CO -200 (POSKY) this time: Sitting in Houston Climbing out Starting to rain!
97 Cro55fire : That is one amazing model...do you mind posting an inflight VC photo?
98 Post contains links and images THEBATMAN : Generally, POSKY models come with no VC and use default panels. However, I did find a panel over at flightsim (2D panel, that is) and it looks like t
99 GingerSnap : Nice shots Batman...love the classic '47s. However, i've been having CTD and OOM problems with the CLS 747. I've tried to locate various things, but I
100 Post contains images Cro55fire : Such a shame that there's no VC, can you use VC of the default 747? Anyway, great shots Batman, she is a beauty.
101 WNwatcher : I'm Bbbbbbbbbaaaaaaaccccckkkkkkk! Had a hard drive failure on my laptop, so i'm using my mother's Mac. No screenies for a while....... C-17 is UKMIL F
102 Post contains images aerdingus : Oy, pain in the arse! Cool, and how do you fly the two at the same time? Is it kind of an ai thing?
103 Post contains images WNwatcher : Ai tankers package that one of my pilots developed. Take off in the 135, set alt, heading, speed, lower boom, jump into the C-17 and then go fly the
104 Post contains images aerdingus : That sounds so cool! Fair play to the fella who developed it, itlooks great. Sounds like scary fun And Godspeed to your laptop
105 Post contains links and images THEBATMAN : Something a little different for today. An Airbus. YES THAT'S RIGHT, an Airbus. At least this one looks good, and doesn't have hair dryers for engines

109 Post contains images KevinL1011 : Haha! Those screenies are reminiscent of the DC-8 Super 60 series. I've always thought of them as "flying pencils". Yep, thar it be. If you look real
110 Post contains images aerdingus : Hmm yeah maybe a bit earnest alright! Right. I'll drop in. Local brew eh??

118 Post contains images gingersnap : The best thing about that PA 380 is how easy she is to fly. I just flew LHR-SIN the other day with an SQ A380 and i've never executed such a picture
119 aerdingus : Lol, I crashed my B6 one!
120 Post contains images gingersnap : Yes but the winds were most obviously not in your favour. Plus the dispatch obviously messed up the load sheets also
121 Post contains images MIAspotter : Same here! maybe the PA people deliberately made the FDE easy to handle. LOL! Of course... what else could have been! MIAspotter.
122 gingersnap : Well they do say the whalejet A380 is an epically easy bird to control. And we all know AerD doesn't do that kind of thing delibrately!
123 Post contains images THEBATMAN : That she is...but the thing that impresses me most is the quality of the exterior graphics, WOW. I think the forehead helps with aerodynamic braking
124 Post contains links and images Luftfahrer : After seeing these nice A340 aircraft in the thread, I decided to take one for a spin around MUC. It is a "blast from the past" (techncially, not so
125 Post contains images aerdingus : Ha ha ha, gas! Yis all know me so well Mwahahaha!! Oh God yes. Soft spot for any A340 really. That F1 livery is fantastic too.
126 EDICHC : Shades of the famous QF tech log leaks anyone? Flight Crew entry - something loose and rattling in cockpit MX reply - something tightened in cockpit.

129 Luftfahrer : Very nice set! Asia seems like a good place for short- and midhaul flights on big aircraft. Agreed, this one is on the A340-600, though.
130 Post contains images aerdingus : I know, I can't WAIT for it to rain!!!!!!!! I know I could just manipulate it..but I want to wait for it to be "real" Oh yeah I know, sorry!
131 Luftfahrer : No biggie at all, The Beast is a great aircraft as well. I haven't really done any Airbus flights in the closer past, though. I should probably take

139 Post contains links and images Luftfahrer : BA LHR - LOS. Above the island of Mallorca.
140 Post contains links and images THEBATMAN : Back in the CO A380... My only issue with this bird is, of course, the panel. Using a 747 panel in an Airbus is blasphemy . I don't know if ya'll know
141 Post contains images aerdingus : Damn that's some good scenery! Kinda reminds me of meringue pie...nom. This is true! That panel looks good, it's not brown lol And I hope the upholst
