What is your traffic setting in FS? Should be 100%, My Traffic does not set amount of traffic inside FS IIRC.
Also, it depends on time of day. Early mornings there are close to none as FS don't have the option to have AI aircraft parked over night. They appear a set time before departure.

Do you have enough parking spaces at either airport? Is this FS9 or FSX? Sounds like you have the default parking layout, which would explain why there are only a few planes.

Assuming you are running FSX sice you have a Ultra High setting. In that window there is a button "Customize", click that and choose the traffic tab and set "Airline Aircraft Density" to 100% and you should see lots of planes.
