I thought it might be a nice change of pace to have a screenshot thread dedicated solely to airlines that are no longer with us, so here's my contribution to start things off - Eastern Air Lines:

Great wee airline to fly with, while they lasted.

Really? On the Irish threads they were constantly being bashed for their service...or lack thereof   Was an interesting livery to see around alright...

Kind of like how everyone bashes Ryanair for their fees?

Kind of...but that's a totally different kettle of fish haha, I think the vitriol reserved for FR exceeds that of any other airline in the world! Apparently Globespan were always late, leaving people stranded for ages...people weren't too happy about flyin a 738 trans Atlantic, stopping for fuel on the way....I personally never flew them. Ryanair haven't done anything to annoy me...yet....

Thought they also operated 767s and some leased 757s?

Yeah I'm not actually too sure where they sent those...I think they used the 767 Dublin-Vancouver & possibly leased some out to Air India but I could be wrong.

Cool I didn't know they flew there, I think they might've only had one or two routes out of Ireland.

I think the real problems GSM had was with the long haul operation, which both directly and indirectly led to their demise. on their short haul routes out of EDI and GLA they were very good indeed and a great alternative to London Airways or easyJet.

Yup I was quite taken aback when I saw the thread here.

A question...

Quoting EA CO AS (Reply 13):

Did you post this before they actually ceased operations?

International operations, no. Their domestic operations don't officially stop for a few more hours though.

Another of your flying bananas there AerD. I thought Buzz was a subsidiary of KLM and was bought over by Ryanair who absorbed them into the parent company.
