Hello. I've always wanted a program like this. One of my favorite things to do as a passenger is watch the moving map. I see that there is now one available for FSX. Does anyone have this program? Do you like it? I've heard that it can't give the arrival time. Is that the case? If so, does it take away from the program?
Thanks

I have it for FS9, but i'm sure I can give some insight.
The program as a whole is very simple, but is very effective in what it does. The one gripe I have with it, is when near to your destination it doesn't zoom right in (as some airline inflight maps do), and it looks like your aircraft is overhead the destination just the aircraft symbol changing direction as you turn etc.
I've also found a few issues with the 'time at destination', as it is quite often incorrect (usually 1-2 hours out).
It is easy to install into any aircraft you have on your sim (including 3rd party payware). The program installs a small gauge which sits in the bottom left of the screen with the word "MAP" on it. Simply click that and it appears in all its glory.
However I 'think' the gauge is only accessible from within the cockpit...which is a bummer if your sitting in the virtual cabin.
Overall, it's easy to use and I think many of its problems are limitations of the simulator itself.

Now, it says that Map! takes the time info from the flight sim time zones, is there a "fix" to fix the time zones? Wouldn't that solve the problem? Does it switch from C to F and M into Ft etc, like a real airline inflight map? I've seen a few screen shots and its in C and M.

now i understand the reason this product exists, but there is freeware that looks similiar and is also a pretty darn good VFR flight planner.

It gives you the figures in both, alternating between the two.
So you get, C&F, kph & mph (ground speed & head/tail wind), distance in KM & Miles, altitude in ft & metres etc.
