Hello,
I know this topic has been discussed numerous times, but after looking through those threads, I did not learn much more than to download DXT bitmap, which I already have. I also clicked on the links to the different tutorials but none of them worked. So if someone could with give me a tutorial or point me in the direction of one, it would help alot. And I do have Photoshop CS2 and a posky 777 paint kit.

First, you need a program to convert from the dds or bmp DXT format to something your graphics program can use, like 24 bit bitmap, or search for the paint kit of the model you want to paint on the net, blank textures are available for most aircraft.
Then paint it, using either a layered technique a la Photoshop, or a poor mans technique using MS paint. or whatever.
Last, use ACER imagetool ( again ) to convert the result back into DXT - do not overwrite what you painted since the compression creates fakes.
