I am looking for a freeware A320 for FSX.

Also looking for liveries like air new zealand and jetstar.

Probably Project Airbus:

You might have to dig through their forum to find download links. I think a lot of them went down with Avsim having it's big trouble last year.

If you can hold out, and are willing to pay for top quality and realism, I'd wait for FlightsimLabs A320 - it is going to be a complete and full-on simulation if I'm not mistaken and not merely a nice model, average sounds and basic panel.

I am using the Project Airbus A320 now for FS9 and it is wonderful. I installed a realistic sound set for it and also installed the Airbus A32x panel from Ken Mitchell. The plane looks and operates great. I will post some pictures in the screenshot thread once my current flight ends, which is about in 500 miles.

If you want, you can even put the default VC in it (Project Airbus', that is). You'll have to get the FSX-specific model (which you'll want anyway, as the FS9 one displays with a big hole in it). Let me know if you want instructions.

Yeah I would like to see how to do that. Can I extract the VC from the FSX DVD? I bought it, installed it and flew it a few times but went back to FS9 because of all of the installed AI aircraft, schedules and scenery that I have.

OK, here you go:

1. As I mentioned, make sure you get the FSX-specific model for the aircraft.
2. Copy the file 'Airbus_A321_interior' from the default A321 model folder and put it in all of the model folders in the PA A320 (if you have CFM and IAE versions)
3. Open the model.cfg file and add the text line (under the existing one): 'interior=Airbus_A321_interior'
4. Copy the file 'texture.cfg' from the main 'texture' folder of the default A321 and put it in all of the texture folders for the PA aircraft
5. Copy the whole panel folder from the default plane and add it to the PA folder (just aliasing it won't work)
6. Adjust the eyepoint in the aircraft.cfg- This is what I use for the A320 (text should look like it does here):

[Views]
eyepoint=49.22074, -1.73061, 4.355627

Follow this same procedure for the A318 and A318 if you want. The eypoint settings should work for all models.

Hope this helps!

Just keep in mid that FS9 does not recognize the FSX .mdl format. The only way you can successfully merge a VC, is:
1.With FSX, (You cannot merge an exterior model & VC in FS9)
2.An exterior model in the FSX file format &,
3.An interior (VC) model in the FSX file format.

Yeah I was unable to merge it. But to the OP, I would highly recommend the Project Airbus A320, I have their A319 installed but have not yet flown it, I would guess that it is just as good.
