Gotta love the default traffic from Microsoft, errr, maybe not. Thats why I removed it from my setup and started my obsession with adding in realistic traffic into my sim.
I am finally leaving the Russian Far East and flying west towards Moscow, where I have spent a lot of time adding in adding in traffic to the skies. Today was a short flight of a little over 700 miles from the city of Chulman to Bratsk and my winged chariot, the Il-96 freeware model from Samdim.

I had My Traffic X for a while, but I didn't reinstall it. Didn't really like it that much. I'm hoping maybe someone will come up with a way of configuring FSX so it'll show up actual real airline/aircraft traffic that is actually flying around.
So if the SQ241 does a go-around due to "not stabilised", you'd see that in the sim too. That'd be awesome. Though even just real world schedules that are up to date would be fantastic. So when I go to Sydney, I won't see 3 or 4 QF A380s parked side by side at the gates, I'll just see the 1 QF A380, with maybe one other one parked at the jetbase.
And if I'm waiting at around 4:45pm, I'll see "Qantas 31 Super" takeoff, followed by "Speedbird 10 Heavy", and at 7:40pm, I'll see EK's "super" arrive from New Zealand, etc.

That would be a beast of a system to pull that off, and maybe quite expensive. Back whenI used Ultimate Traffic, they did two updates a year, usually Spring and Fall if I remember right. Now I do my traffic all by hand, using TTools or MRAI to install my plans, with an occasional World of AI package here and there.

Quoting aerdingus (Reply 4): Ya know...puttin a train livery on a plane is the stuff most geeks dream of...hats off to the airline!
Yeah, I know - pretty neat of TuiFly to do that! And make quite a few dollars at the same time advertising the Deutsche Bahn. Honestly though, ICE's need no advertising - compared to the rubbish old belching smokey XPT trains over here in Australia (they are a derivate of British HST Class 43), the ICE's are beautiful modern, sleek machines. Even the old ICE1 is amazing compared to the belching old beasts we have. Ours still have the Paxman Valenta engines too...
I remember that Krupp bidded on one of the Australian HST projects - would have offered track and ICE, but they lost out to TGV's consortium. Which ended up going nowhere at all. We have no other choice than to fly from city to city, the trains are far too slow. Often they do no better than 130km/h. It's a crying shame.

Thanks! My flying time is on hold now. While I added in passenger service traffic to my sim, I completely forgot about those loud and smokey cargo freighters. I am now working on adding in An-12 and Il-76 freighters before I fly again.
Speaking of loud and smokey, while not a cargo hauler, the Tu-134 is both loud and smokey. I downloaded the Tu-134A-3 model from SCS and am currently trying to learn how to fly it. I haven't got it off of the ground yet, just did a taxi test. Problem here is that the manual is in Russian and I know zero Russian, other than nyet. When you load the plane in,it is cold and dark, so you have to go through the startup process. I found an English quick start guide, and managed to get it going, or so I thought, I only had one engine running. With my headphones on, the engine noise is so loud!

I love the atmosphere in this shot!
After a failed attempt yesterday, I was finally able to fly. I installed some scenery for Tolmachevo Airport (OVB/UNNT) and flew there but FS9 crashed back to desktop at 20 miles out, frustrating. Even more frustrating when it crashed in daylight hours but in the evening, it was OK. Seems that when I installed it, I missed some textures that was causing the crash. So today I flew in my trusty An-148 from KJA to OVB.
Krasnoyarsk's other airport, Cheremshanka Airport (UNKM), is the home base for regional carrier Katekavia and civilian traffic
The other airport, Yemelyanovo Airport (UNKL) is where the main passenger service is...but not today, no pax sercvice here with me at this hour.
On the ramp with me is a Lufthansa Cargo MD-11 and a Russian Air Force An-72
And down there is an An-12 that belongs to Avial NV
Notice how close the two airports are
A Russian Air Force Il-18
A Russian Air Force Il-76
A Tu-154M of Alrosa Mirny Air Enterprise departing Tolmachevo Airport (UNNT)
A Fokker 50 of Air Astana departing Tolmachevo Airport (UNNT)
About to land, with a Russian Air Force Tu-154B-2 holding short
As I was getting my parking instructions, the Tu-154B-2 departed
A Russian Air Force Beriev A-50, a modified Il-76 for AWACS services, the yellow truck on the left, it actually moves through out the airport
Some bizjets, a couple of Challengers and a Gulfstream 4
A view of the apron
An amazing freeware airport
The scenery for OVB is amazing, simply amazing. One of my favorite freeware airports out there, next to the release of BOS. It was a bit heavy on my frames, I keep my frame rate locked at 24 and at times it dropped to 10, but then againI have an older computer (3ghz PentiumD with 4GB ram and a 512MB Nvidia 8800 card). I am not sure where I am flying next, so I might do some touch and gos here until I decide.

UltimateDelta, is that a payware CRJ or a freeware one with a merged VC? I know Posky has a CR2 as well as the CR7 and CR9 but have not flown them. I flew their BBJ and hated it, it was like I was driving an Italian sports car as even though I was fully loaded with fuel, it was racing down the runway at over 180k and when I pulled back on the stick, it took off like a F16 fighter jet and had a very steep climb. Only other Posky aircraft I flew before was their B752 and I liked that one.
