I've been using traffic tools for about the past five or so years building my flight plans for FS9. Recently I came across an error while updating some flightplans. When I click Compile the following appears in the bottom box.
ERROR: Unable to delete old traffic file
C:Program FilesMicrosoft GamesFlight Simulator 9SceneryWorldSceneryTraffic_Delta
Is it write protected?
I am not sure what they are asking by "write protected". I have a desktop dedicated to FS and is used for nothing else by no one else, so no settings have been changed. Anyways bottom line is its not letting me update my traffic. Any help is appreciated.

Do you have FS9 open at the time you are trying to compile? Or do you have any other utilities that scans the traffic files open when trying to compile. I use ACA2005 to scan my aircraft, traffic files and so on, and sometimes if that is open and it is displaying an aircraft used in a traffic file I am trying to compile, I will receive that error message.
