Here we go with the 7th screenshot thread this year, since the last one was giving me problems again
Starting things off with a few 4th of July shots-
AA 738 approaching Washington on a clear July 4th night
Caught 'em in action!
KLM MD-11 rotating from LHR...
...and a Martinair machine lifting off on a beautiful evening from LUX
I love the backlighting in this shot.
Orange glow against some imposing clouds
On final for runway 24 at AMS
N199DN taxiing out as DL1240 ATL-SAV. Delta's flown a lot of things between the two cities, but I'm pretty sure an international 767-300 wasn't one of them
Looking past the D and E-gates

Last night I finally flew for the first time in a long time. Took the Project Airbus A320 up for a spin between ORD-SFO as Virgin America. My landing at SFO was fun, ATC changed runways but never told me. As I was landing, a UA B757 took off from the other end, rocketing over me. Thankfully the passengers do not have that view. In addition, my AFCAD for SFO is horrible...or I am going to blame the AFCAD for this, ATC handed me over to SFO tower (as well as other AI aircraft) at nearly 60 miles out! Need to look for a better AFCAD.
One thing that I noticed during flight was that my lights were not working. A quick scan of my aircraft.cfg file revealed that I was missing a bracket around the LIGHTS entry. Not sure how I managed to muck that up or not notice it earlier, I have quite a few other textures installed and flights completed with this model. Oh well.

My contribution is the new Qantas colour scheme that is on VH-OJO in the real world, supporting the Qantas Wallabies.:D
Cool colour scheme. It's in Johannesburg at the moment, or should be soon. And should be back tomorrow in Sydney as QF64 (in case anyone wants to see the real thing).
As is normal, I paint it onto the B747-8i. It's pictured here in Melbourne. I had 155kt head-winds the whole journey from Sydney to Melbourne. I'll return to Sydney shortly. Should be a fast journey.

I use mostly manually-installed flightplans from AIG (Alpha India Group, for those wondering- actually, that's where they all come from...) and a few WoAI packs.
Playing catch-up from the past few days; let's start with a CO/UA ferry flight!
N69059 rocketing out of AMA as CO9490 freshly painted with the United titles! I think there were planes painted there, but I I'm not sure if they were UA or CO ones (after all, they could probably handle the title switch for CO planes at the bases).
Hey...Watch the paint!
At the gate at IAH with a little cousin....let's roll!
And now for something completely different! Taking the Air Berlin A319 on a short hop, TXL-DUS:
The first repaint I've found that recreates the double overwing exits. Woo-hoo!
Passing Berlin's Olympic Stadium
Climbing with a dramatic backdrop
Lining up for 23L
Slowing down past terminal B
At the gate. This is Thomas Ruth's new DĂĽsseldorf scenery- I highly recommend it!

Thanks. That is an airline that I want to fly on, and since they just started flying into ORD, I now have a chance to! One of these days I'll take them for a quick weekend trip to either LAX or SFO.
Quoting THEBATMAN (Reply 13): My first post in Thread #7. A BAe-146 on a short trip
I love that plane, wish they were still in use in the States. However I am glad that I got a chance to fly on them when ZW was a UA regional carrier and I flew them on ORD-LEX-ORD and ORD-SDF-ORD. Smooth and quiet.
I am not in my comfort zone with long distance flights, however I just had to do this one, LAX-SYD. My new company's main office is in SYD, so I flew over there in FS9 for some "virtual training" with the Project Airbus A380 for QF, flight 12.
Late night departure out of LAX, around 10:30 local time.
Another bird with a long flight ahead!
And we are off, a few minutes behind schedule.
After a long, long time of flying, the first hint of the sun is starting to appear behind me.
Wheels down and flaps down, need to make sure I get this landing right! About 6 miles behind me is my AI counterpart, QF12 that took off shortly after I did. Made for fun ATC communication....you talking to me or the other QF12?
Some early early morning fog at SYD
An Aeropelican JS31 holding short while the whale jet comes in.
Not a pretty landing, no pretty flare, but we are wheels on the ground, and a big sigh of relief from the cockpit.
The B738 also looks very small compared to the A380!
Early morning at SYD, still looks quiet
Aircraft at the gates still have their lights off and waiting for their first flights of the day.
Not a A380 suitable gate, but this is where I am parking!
Baggage unloading time, that has to be a long process with this plane.
Notice the fuel left, that is why there was some nervous moments in the cockpit. Almost did not load enough fuel.

Ok, here is a challenge to all of you. This trip is only 98nm, but it ain't easy! Get in something that is turbo-charged, or a small turbo-prop (like a twin otter) and fly VNSI (Simara, Nepal) to VNLK (Lukla, Nepal). It's not bad until you get into the mountains. And since there are no navaids into Lukla, it makes it that more exciting. I decided to do it in FSD's Cessna 337 Skymaster...
Lined up, ready to go in Simara
Up we go
Up we go to 14,000 ft
Uh-oh...here come the mountains
They're getting closer!
Ha ha...now the fun begins - see the airport?
See it now?
Not pretty, not exactly on the center-line, but I'm here. Welcome to Lukla!
A little back-taxi action
And we're parked. Hey - nice choice of airplane!
If any of you decide to take the challenge (and I hope you will), post some screenies and tell us how it went!
I havnt got time to do it now but I'll go for it next time I get a chance to fly, I'll decide what to fly closer to the time, either a caravan or the baron

Found some time to fly this weekend and I got back into my Canadian flights after a few oddball flights that I made. I took up what I think is my favorite freeware aircraft, the AFG King Air 300 on a flight between YQX-YFB. The YFB scenery was very interesting, a little bit of a scenery hog for my PC, but interesting. There are actually aircraft carrier arrestor cables at the ends of the runways!
Preparing to leave Gander International Airport. Nice day, eh!
Despite a lot of custom AI added in, not much to see here now.
Wheels up, runway slipping away
Didn't take long to lose sight of the ground after take off.
Made it through the initial low level clouds
I love the virtual cockpit of this little King Air 300!
Just about cleared the clouds and rains they are carrying
Not sure what that warning means, came on when I went over FL180 and off when I went below FL180.
As I get further north, I am starting to see some snow on the ground.
Short finals, landing just behind a Falcon 900 and about five miles ahead of a King Air 200.
Head on view of my lovely little bird just before landing
I was a little preoccupied with getting a side view screenshot that I almost went off the runway.
The Kenn Borek Air hangar with a couple of their DHC-6 Otters parked
Static AI that came with the scenery
The main building at YFB. Makes me think of the Beatles song Yellow Submarine.
A rare plane, a First Air HS748. Behind it is the Falcon 900 that landed just before me and further back is an ATR 42.
Letting the pax out while a Kenn Borek DHC-6 is preparing to take off.

No, and no be honest, I am not sure how to do that in the plane. Guess I need to read a manual or two. I have never noticed that before, but also, up until recently I've been using the ugly 2D panel. I've only done a few flights with the virtual cockpit and those were at about 7000ft or so. But this flight I went higher to get up above the clouds and weather.

Usually when I come back from a trip, I like to fly out of whatever airport(s) I visited, but I changed things up for this one:
Our steed for LH 1956 DUS-CPH- D-AIDD, an A310-300 waiting to go
Leaving some competitors behind
Pax view
Over DĂĽsseldorf on intial climb
Starting the descent
Just a few feet to go...but who's flying the plane?
Arriving at gate C29 (scenery is Swedflight's CPH freeware adapted to FSX)

I run Flight Sim 2004 on a laptop, and it has been running slow lately, unfortunately. I don't know if it's viruses or just my video card dying from Flight Sim abuse, but I can now only run the least demanding aircraft (which eliminates my payware fleet) or slow aircraft, which seem to do better. So, I got Carenado's Mooney. I love Mooneys, and I was thinking about getting this even when my PC was healthy. This is my excuse, but hope for the best for my Flight Sim situation.
An old Mooney has always been near the top of my list for potential aircraft to buy if the time is right.
I went on an XC from SEA to YVR, but my screenshot program wasn't working since I had rearranged my desktop. So, I went on another flight from Half Moon Bay, CA and back on a pleasant summer evening.
Shortly after take off from Half Moon Bay.
Topping the lifting Marine Layer.
Banking along the California coastline towards San Francisco.
Cruise climbing past Pedro Point.
Turning back on the north side of the bay with Muir Beach and Forest in the background.
The Golden Gate Bridge is sticking out of the mist in the distance.
Over Montara, configuring for landing.
A shallow turn to final... (Think the instruments aren't reading properly because this was during a landing replay, since I wanted to concentrate on the landing and not screenies. Apologies...this annoys me too.)
Short final...
Touchdown!...delicately laying down the nosewheel...

Been a while since I have flown, at least a month. Here is another fantasy flight that will never, and I mean never, ever, ever, ever get flown in real life. The route is common, MDW-STL, however the equipment used, the Tupolev Tu-334, which only two were built and the program scrapped in favor of new projects.
It is a quick taxi from the GA ramps to Rwy 13C.
A spotter view from outside of the airport, waiting for a couple of WN birds to depart.
Banking away from the southside of Chicago.
After a short flight, starting the descent back into a hazy southern Illinois as we head to STL
Somebody is going to have to go around, and it is not going to be me!
Cockpit view, panel that came with the plane, better than I expected.
Welcome to STL!
A failed Russian aviation project meets a very successful North American aviation project.
STL used to be a busy airport back before AA bought TW, now it is kind of a ghost town.
STL spotters in action from beyond the airport fence.

We start our journey today here in Singapore Changi Airport... what? not ZRH? yup... MIAspotter decided to move to SIN for a bit..
And here´s our steed for today Jetstar Asia A320 9V-JSD with added ValuAir titles.
Almost ready for our 2:00 flight to Bangkok.
And pushback, under the wise guidance of Mr Tan, Gunther´s Singaporean cousin.
Climbing out of SIN, heading over to Malaysia.

Parked on the swanky Subarnabhumi airport alongside a colleague.
Landed back in SIN, lots of SQ tails, no surprise there.
Parked on our gate, 10 mins ahead of schedule, not bad for my first flight with 3K.

Still struggling with frames rates of about 5-10fps for most of my aircraft, I shot the River Visual 19 into DCA in an AA 757. An awesome approach it is! Truly one of most epic, although nothing beats a good hand-flown full visual pattern.
Final preparation before being slam-dunked...
Flying south towards DCA to join the Potomic River for the approach...
The approach follows the river all the way to the short (by jet standards) runway. Here's an overview of what lies ahead, although it's far less dramatic than in reality.
The fun begins...Roll out, then another right, a shallow, but precise left, then another right-hand turn lining up for a short final.
Banking before the monuments...
Starting the turn for final...
Not the best angle for final, but it all worked out.

It's an older Iris Software model, now on their freeware list. I went on a downloading spree for most of their freeware a little over a year ago. The exteriors look great on some of them, but it seems that many functions are either disabled or just don't work. I still enjoy them though, just for a casual flight if it catches my eye in my list of aircraft.
Very good fun. There's another approach into DCA, the LDA 19, that begins as a non-precision approach with minimums that have you break out of the clouds right over the river (considering you break out at minimums), basically setting you up for a river visual right towards the last few miles where the river begins to meander more. Fun as well!

OK, I lied in my last contribution to the thread, this will be my last one for this thread. With the weather starting to turn to the cooler side here in the Chicago area, I wanted to fly somewhere warmer. Since my last flight left me in MKE, which is about the same weather wise as ORD, I headed southwest to PHX and onto SAN.
From MKE-PHX I am in the Project Airbus A319 wearing one of the retro US liveries.
Shhhh, be very, very quiet!
Cruising along at FL360
On finals at PHX, flying past downtown and Chase Field, where the Arizona Diamondbacks baseball team plays.
Heading to the gate
Everybody out, I got a connection to make!
For PHX-SAN I am flying a Project Opensky CRJ-900 operated by YV for US, and I am in the middle of the afternoon rush
At least I am not in the end of the queue!
The BBJ in the background is based in the Chicago area, calling DPA home. It's owners is the Ty toy company, who it looks like made a fortune on the Ty Beanie Babies that was popular seveal years ago.
Arrival traffic is heavy as well, maybe I should be turning the other way as there might be some go arounds there! Nahh, just increase my climb rate and I'll be fine.
Next month I will be in Phoenix, Arizona and I cannot wait to see the landscape in real life, it looks nice in FS9!
Coming into SAN, they had the traffic flying out into the Pacific and then turning around. I was looking forward to making my approach in through the city. Done that in real life several times and it is fun!
Welcome to SAN!
A lot of different UA liveries here!
Time to head out to dinner, maybe In & Out Burger or a nice place in the Gas Lamp District?

This is a pretty long series, but a long flight warrants lots of pics! This is (so far) my longest real-time flight in FS, at 1,822 nm, as AC128, YVR-YYZ:
Stocking up on food for the long flight to Toronto
GE engines are plenty capable of getting this loaded beauty off the ground!
Pulling the gear up
Get comfortable...it's a long ride!
Crossing the very southernmost sections of the Canadian Rockies
Well, there's progress...that's the prairie of southern Saskatchewan below us right now.
Now we're about 30 miles south of Portage la Prairie, Manitoba with the western section of Lake Winnipeg in the distance
Keep on running!
Getting into the Great Lakes region...now we're somewhere over extreme northern Minnesota.
Sunset over Lake Superior
Now just a second away from touchdown on 15R at YYZ, just behind an A330.
Arriving on stand 3 hours and 52 minutes after takeoff, C-FCAF catches a well-earned break (I know it's dark, but the night lightmaps in the texture weren't working properly so there were no cabin lights).
Quoting airbalticfan (Reply 176): It sure is Low Cost Carrier doing Sport Charters and more around Canada,USA and much more.

Interesting, but why are the engine´s intakes and cones painted red?
SIN-KUL-SIN today, nice short 35 minutes flight, not much time to climb high so had to settle for FL220 on the way up, keeping an eye on the threatening clouds in the area, approach into KUL was very bumpy!
Climbing out of SIN overflying the CBD, Esplanade Theatres on the Bay visible, War Memorial and the Raffles Complex visible... Marina Bay does not exist yet on FS
Parked on the Satellite building at KUL, as usual quite an empty airport.

Quoting ElpinDAB (Reply 167): For some reason, I felt like shooting all of my turboprops for a series, and I intend to eventually post some shots of all of them. To start, I'll post the military t-props. Next will be the civil props.
Thanks guys, means a lot.
I've already got my eldest hooked on aircraft. His favourite appears to be the U2 A319s

Thought I would try out the TrafficX program I picked up, so we're gonna do a short hop from ATL - BHM in a UA 753 (QW).

Quoting THEBATMAN (Reply 191): All lined up - that 753 with the Rollers sure looks GOOD!
Quoting THEBATMAN (Reply 191): Oh man - pretty much right on the numbers!
Great shot.

Aw, good work there!
So after about an hr of stalls today, I finally set me A346 down on the rwy @ YYC without killing anybody. I could have just put it on easy & no crash damage detection but damnit I wanted to get it right!!
JL 744 lives on in my sim...
Some birds @ YEG:
Grrr this plane looks so aggressive
As you can imagine I was very relieved @ this point!
Thanks
Off to ADD next

Seeing as the A350 recently showed us it's nose...I thought I'd take this EK A350 EBB - ADD. I really liked Camsims 767W but this A350 doesn't seem as good. Oh well, was still flying through turbulence, love flyin in Africa!
A H7 LET 410 on the ramp @ EBB. Cute lil things.
A 5H ATR 42 on the ramp @ EBB. He took aaaaaaaages clearing the rwy!!
Just after take off, turning over Lake Victoria.
Cloudy!!
Not falling but in a weird turn, from tower pov
KQ 767
The much debated over nose
Sun & moon
The moon guiding me towards ADD. Visual. ADD's elevation is 7550ft!!!
Thanks

I think it will look very nice, although I'm one of the few who actually likes the A380 from certain angles. I must say though, all of the renderings of the A350 I've seen have shown curved glass on the windshield, but it doesn't appear that the A380 has this...Is it supposed to be the EXACT same nose?

Some nice reds, yellows & purples really brighten up a flight (and cause monumental amounts of windshear and turbulence.
Wow! Those clouds look like stairs to climb!
Quoting gingersnap (Reply 202): Also nice to note my first occurrence this autumn of the aurora borealis during this flight.
Even @ GLA?! :O

Tell me about it. It's the first time in FS I actually thought I may drop out the sky following departure.
Surface winds were gusting around 20, but around 600-1000 AGL they were hitting upwards of 40-50. It was like a brick wall, with the ground speed dropping off quickly.
As you can see from that shot, 12,600ft we have 67 knot winds (and that's out of the worst of it).
Yeah I was quite surprised also. It disappeared about 20nm north of the Dean Cross (DCS) VOR. Mind you, with hail and possible snow forecast for parts of the UK by Friday...forget the Indian summer; winter is on it's way

Eek scary! Love that realism though (mostly only in FS)
