I had this EXACT view out of an EI A320 window to MXP last week so was very happy
I'm putty in the hands of a 767 with winglets.

The Version 1 A330 from POSKY was for FS2002, and did not have wingviews available. The Version 2 was for FS2004 and did have wingviews and updated modeling. Having said that, the plane works wonders even though it's now going on 7+ years.

Both very nice sets!
Had some time yesterday, so I did one of the many early-morning DL flights out of OMA. This is EV4788, OMA-ATL:
Ship 719 after pushback from gate A5
Not the only one up this morning...
We were at 34,000 feet in about 15 minutes
Approaching the greater Kansas City area
Nice sunrise over the Missouri-Tennessee border
There are the rolling hills of nothern Georgia and Alabama...
Hot 'Lanta in the distance
Arriving right in the middle of the morning rush, right about 9 AM.
Applying reverse thrust down ATL's runway 8L
Catching a break at gate D24 (literally all 58 gates at terminal C were occupied...guess my AI is more realistic than I knew...)

HA! yeah I had that, landing in ZRH late at night and wondering where the hell can I park now...
SIN-DPS with some nice local traffic, China Airlines 738 (Still intact at this point) EVA A330, Indonesia 738 taxiing in, and our A320 almost ready to go.
Yeah, do as the sign says.
Descending into Bali, Batur Volcano poking out.
After a 35 mins turnaround and 2:20 flight time, we are fully configured for landing in Changi.
ĀØWhen I grow up I wanna be an A380ĀØ says the little A320.
SIN-HKG I will be doing this very same flight for realz in about a month!
David and Goliath... both going to HKG.
Making progress as the sun starts to set, cool colour display.

Pretty shot. To fix the overweight issue, just tell your passengers not to eat anything before they get on. Problem solved! TRUE STORY: every day I show up to work at ORD around 1930 hrs and see both EI and LX A330s pretty much right behind each other getting ready to take off.

It's an A345, which AC actually did fly for a time before the 772LR. The screenshots probably didn't do the AV A332 justice though. I'd like to see these two aircraft up beside each other on the ramp in real life...only then would I be able to determine the answer.

Thanks! I guess the Avianca paint is the winner, but I wonder what the A342 or A345 would look like in the scheme or one equally as appealing? I still can't place those two quads aside...seeing them in person is just so impressive, especially the A345, so majestic.

Quoting Cadet985 (Reply 87): Got any tips for spotting Aurora Borealis in FSX? I fly into and out of PABR all the time, and I think I've seen it once.
I've done several routes and have seen the northern lights. Basically, you have to pick a polar route (like the one I did - Alaska to Norway) and once you're up at altitude they just kind of "show up"...not a real technical answer I know, but it's the only answer I have!
Quoting Cadet985 (Reply 87): Which C-17 is that - freeware or payware?
Payware. Area 51 Simulations. I was torn between Area 51 and Virtavia, and chose Area 51. Certainly not up to par with PMDG or Level-D, but if you're looking for a pretty nice military cargo bird, I don't think you'll be too disappointed.

JustFlight Released the "Freemium" 757 yesterday, so I "Took Delivery" of a few models......
The first flight I operated with it was DL 1707 ATL-PBI on a -200 Wingleted model
Night VC looks amazing
Prepping for taxi
Rocketing out of ATL
Not sure what the next flight will be, I'm thinking something to test the range limits.
The FMC is amazing, and on the Arrivals page, the flap settings turn green when you hit the appropriate airspeed for that specific flap setting.

Since PMDG has released their -600 and -700 expansion for their 737 NGX, of course I had to go and get it. So, we do a little test hop from IND - OSH (home of the famous EAA Airventure). Today I chose WN livery for the -700...
No shots of IND airport since I don't have any add-on scenery for it, and the default scenery is BORING.
So, here we are on climbout out of IND
Nice moon shot

What's your overall opinion of the Freemium 757? I was thinking about it, but also noticed that although my processor is dual core, it isn't 2.5 ghz, which is what they recommend.

So far, it's been very frame rate friendly, and the processor shouldn't be an issue (test it before buying any liveries just to be sure ), however there are a few glitches I've noticed. One being that the FMC has a tendency to lock up from time to time, the A/P knobs seem to have been reversed in that you right click to increase the value and left click to lower it, certain sounds that the 767 had are missing (Seatbelt/ Smoking/ Cabin Call Tones). So Far I've done roughly 12 hours airborne in it (2 days off ) and I love it though. I think all issues will be fixed in the first patches to come out, the same issues happened on the 767 and A320 when they were released. I would recommend downloading the aircraft itself (standard current BA colours) and then any of the 15 so far livery 2 packs they have out. Each pack of 2 is 2.99 US. I picked up the American Airlines Wingleted/ Thomas Cook non-winglet and Delta Wingleted/ Finnair Wingleted packs. The standard aircraft has Rolls engines, but other packs have Pratts. Over all, I recommend it for download.

I just picked up Wilco's Embraer Phenom, and it's a good little plane. It seems like some of the "FMS" functions might be disabled for the FS9 version, although I haven't really tried too hard to make it work since I'm struggling with frame rates with it anyways. It's not a beautiful plane from many angles, but it's cool looking, and it seems like a nice personal jet. I like the avionics, and BMW did a good job designing the interior. Hopefully Wilco will create a Phenom 300, but the 100 is good for now.

Very similar in performance to the Phenom 100 is the Piaggio Avanti II. While it requires two pilots, it burns less fuel while providing more interior space and flying further than the Phenom 100 at speeds just a tick less. The Avanti regularly cruises above FL300, jet territory.
Many find the Avanti to be odd looking, and while it is unique, I like it's shape. It is beautiful and functional, and derives 20% of its total lift from the airfoil-shaped fuselage, allowing for a smaller wing, reducing drag and maximizing interior space. The rear-mounted pusher-props help to reduce the interior noise and vibrations commonly experienced with turboprops, although the noise outside the plane is quite loud and distinctly Avanti.
Which would you choose? The Phenom 100 or the Avanti?
It's truly a shame the A340 line is now officially closed. I had wanted these to be celebratory, but they are now commemorative...in the memory of the A340, a true classic that will grace the skies for many more years.

Nice shots! Makes me want to get my FS9 rebuild done quickly so I can fly again. I am working on rebuilding my AI, and so far just only have US Airways and US Airways Express installed. Got a bit more to go, can't fly in empty skies. But to answer your question, the Avanti, definitely. Such a cool looking and sounding plane. I used to work near a busy GA airport here in the NW suburbs of Chicago and I always loved seeing the Avanti arrive/depart when I would stop by there after work.

I used to work at a GA airport south of Chicago and remember that a Beech Starship would come and go once in a blue moon. Awesome bird. VERY distinctive sound, similar to the Piaggio.

There's certainly nothing else like it. Being around airports constantly for the last 8 years, I still enjoy the Avanti's too. It seems that people either love them or hate them, and I just like the conversations they start. I do love the sound they make though...recognizable from far away.

Now that would be a sight! I can't say I've ever seen a Beech Starship, but I'd love to! I never thought about what they would sound like, but being a twin pusher turboprop like the Avanti, it would make sense that they would sound similar and distinct.

When I was taking lessons towards my Private, we had an Avanti from Avanti Air on the ramp with us. We had just fired up our C172 when they cranked. My instructor shut us down and simply said, "Listen, you won't forget this." To this day it's still my best and favourite memory of flying.

When I took my first of two lessons (in the time that I like to call my pre-mortgage years), we were behind the Wings Of Freedom P51D that was heading off to it's next destination. The instructor also shut us down so that we could hear the P51D roar down the runway. I'll never forget that sound and sight.
Ohhh yes...a couple of weeks ago I got to tour DL's ground handler in OMA and while we were on the ramp, our guide had to stop talking for a few minutes to let an Avanti pass on takeoff. Definitely nothing like it.

My first flight in a long time. Been working on reinstalling my AI traffic and scenery after having to start over from scratch. This was a short flight between SEA-PHX with AS and one of their B739s. I forgot to install my EditVoicePack backup, so there were several missing callsigns and most importantly, the voicepack was not accelerated, so the ATC communication was so slow, sounded like they were a bunch of lazy guys not wanting to work.

A few weeks ago after Thanksgiving, I was flying back home to ORD from RSW. We had a weather delay of almost 4 hours due to 50+mph wind gusts back in Chicago. In Concourse D at RSW there is not much to do, so after a quick bite at the crowded bar with other travelers heading to the midwest and east coast that were also delayed, I grabbed a seat at the end of Concourse D and looked out over the runway, and also got a good view of a Cessna 402C from Cape Air that was being loaded. Which peaked my interest in them and which is why I flew Cape Air's sole route in Florida, RSW-EYW. Cape Air's service cuts a nearly 6 hour drive from Fort Myers/Naples to Key West down to about 50 minutes or so. More time in Key West is always a good thing!
Cape Air's gates are at the end of Concourse D and the ground crew from B6 takes care of them.
Baggage loaded, pax loaded, before firing up the engines, the pilot is doing the safety chat. And with the way the Colts are playing this year, I think I would remove that logo from the jet.
Heading to the active while a NK A319 slows down after arriving
Holding at the active while another NK A319 comes in
Got to get out of here in a hurry, a B6 E190 is hot on my tail.
Key West here we come!
Climbing up to our final cruise altitude of 7000ft.
For the first part of the flight we hugged the shorline of the Gulf of Mexico.
Getting ready to pass APF.
This area is known as Ten Thousand Islands, which is very close to where I spent my Thanksgiving holiday.
Obscured by the clouds is Marco Island airstrip, which is even closer to where I spent my Thanksgiving holiday.
Left the shorline and heading out into the Gulf of Mexico
Flying through the clouds
Minutes from arriving
Thankfully the visibility is great as there is no ILS here
The main terminal at EYW
Parking next to an Airtran B737-700, that's got to be a fun flight into EYW!

I downloaded alot of paint for the dreamwings Q400. I can't wait until Majestic's Q400 is released, but I don't even have FSX now...It looks fantastic though. http://samdimdesign.free.fr/HTML/Q400/screenshots.html I need to get a new PC sometime though, and this will be one of my first FS add-ons when I do.
Anyways, as far as my dreamwings livery downloads...I ended up just taking alot of shots of the QantasLink Q and the Greener Horizon Q since they were turning out so well. I did a long flight along the East Coast of Queensland, followed by a flight from EAT towards SEA...but I didn't make it past Mt Rainier before my computer crashed. My last Horizon shot was just fine though.
Taking off from Hamilton Island, first in a Q300, then a Q400. Compare the performance difference.
Cruise in an old paint scheme Q400 towards the south at FL250.
Climbing out of some grass strip in central Queensland, I saw an old clipper at sea, just off the marshlands.
An old river meandering its last stretches towards the sea at sunset.
Somehow, I flew upon a large industrial area in a small town in the sub-tropics of Queensland. No clue what town this is, but I later landed there. There were many container ships anchored offshore.
Base and short final to this small industrial area along the Queensland Coastline.
Mt. Rainier in the background...this was one of the last shots before my computer crashed. I had climbed out from the higher terrain east of the Cascades, and intended to fly around Rainier, and then descend into the Puget Sound area. Oh well.

Over the Caspian Sea, I saw a flash while taking these shots, and it turns out that FS9 has meteors programmed...No clue they did that, but it's awesome. I shot the one and only meteor or whatever it was supposed to be, that I saw.

Quoting csturdiv (Reply 144): I have been flying in Florida a lot lately, which gave me a chance to tryout a new freeware scenery for PGD that was recently uploaded to AVSIM. The scenery is nice, but is sorely lacking a good AFCAD file. Not much to see in PGD.
Nice to see the Allegiant boarding ramps are modeled. I wonder if they can be added to AES.

No pics from me for a while, just picked up my new i7 3.4ghz, 16GB ram and dual 1gb radeon video cards today. Going to be setting that up and moving data over to it for a while. Cannot wait. Might be able to fly in Chicago now with my full AI setup. Maybe I can now buy FS Dreamteam KORD.

Easily I would wager. I get pretty decent frames out of ORD with the PMDG NGX and this is my setup...

Quoting Gingersnap (Reply 158): I'm still in the process of tweaking various things, changing external settings here and there to minimize jaggies
Quoting Gingersnap (Reply 162): I forgot another one from before. BA Airbus' may be boring, but they certainly help me get my hand back in to Flight Sim
This one certainly appears very to have very few "jaggies". What settings are you using? Are you changing your FS settings or hardware settings?
Must be that we've spent too much time on FS LOL. Really though, it must have supposed to have been a meteor, although it was too slow and too bright. But, I suppose programming a slower and brighter meteor would make it more noticeable on Flight Sim, so why not?

All these are with the FS anti-aliasing setting off too
Mind you for whatever reason, the FSX AA option is really poor so it's better to use an external program where possible.
I'm using a program called nVidia Inspector (which if you're going to use this, you should turn off the AA setting in FSX anyhow). It's basically what has come to replace nHancer.
Also I should add that......after installing FSX, and the various compatible FSX scenery I could carry over...I realised I was without AES. So I popped AES on the system, and began to stick in the various codes for my credits. Over just one years worth of buying credits, I had 168 free credits to use with AES

Last night I finally opened up the box and setup my PC. I wanted to wait a day, since my PC is liquid cooled and it sat in the back of my SUV all day in the cold Chicago weather, wanted the liquid to warm up to room temps before cranking it up. I installed FS9 from my CDs, and then just copied over my FS9 folder from my backup drive with all of my AI aircraft and flightplans, scenery, AFCADs and so on. So far so good. Sitting at Flytampa's SEA in the default C172, I was getting nice frame rates. And at the default ORD, I was getting in the high 40s in the spot view. Looks like I can fly in my home area finally, without it being a slide show that is.

Sounds good.
I would suggest investing in FSDreamteams KORD. I find the frames to be better than the default ORD that comes with FS. Plus it looks a whole heap better, and comes with AES support.

Glad you focused on the approach into CO, because it's wonderful not being the plains of DEN. West of the Front Range rules CO. Great lighting as usual too! This makes a picture, for sure.
I am actually running FS9, but I really do appreciate your comments! I hope I'll be running FSX or greater sometime in the next thousand blog years, especially when the next FS reveals itself. In the meantime, it appears that your techniques might be usable with FS9 too. I might try to wait until i upgrade to FSX or greater. Regardless, I really do appreciate you sharing your techniques, and I will definitely put them to use sometime in the future.

If you search for FS2004 or FS9 nVidia Inspector profiles, you should get something come up very quickly. I used it with FS9 on my old machine.
