What do you mean? The FMC?

You can enter coordinated direct on the legs page, using the followong way:

5020N which means N50 W020...

No, I don't mean the FMC, I have a Flight Planner Program (http://www.fscommander.com/screenshots.htm).

Just to clarify - If i have this TATL route (shorten for obvious reasons)

53N050W 95 131 N53°00'00.00" W050°00'00.00" 53N050W
55N040W 94 372 N55°00'00.00" W040°00'00.00" 55N040W
56N030W 101 345 N56°00'00.00" W030°00'00.00" 56N030W
56N020W 107 335 N56°00'00.00" W020°00'00.00" 56N020W

I just have to enter 5350N, 5540N, 5630N and 5620N in the FMC / The route planner program?

-Thanks in advance!

Never heard of that program, but looks nice.

I don't know about the planner program, but in the real wolrd 747 FMC you enter the TATL waypoints only 5350N etc as you mentioned and then always the full degrees are meant:

5350N is the same as: N53°00'00.00" W050°00'00.00"

IIRC, if you use 53N50 you will get N53 W150, which can be handful for transpac.

I could use that too. There was a big "crossing the pond" event on IVAO today, too bad I couldnt join in for work reasons. Not that I know much about NAT flying anyway. Basically all my knowledge stems from one Leisure 767 video (I think JustPlanes).

That's correct.

5350N = N53 W50
53N50 = N53 W150
5350S = S53 E50
53S50 = S53 E150
5350E = N53 E50
53E50 = N53 E150
5350W = S53 W50
53W50 = S53 W150

FWIW, when I'm flying trans-oceanic flight plans that have lat/long coordinate waypoints, I enter them in the form NXXWXXX and it works perfectly. Obviously, this can be changed to S and E, respectively.

Cheers,
Cameron

This depends on FMC software really, some will allow this and that... and I suspect 5030N style is database-bound, but I dont really know.

Fabo, on the PMDG the 5030N format works and on all our LH 744's. I cannot speak for other airlines.

That seems to be more-or-less standart. Although I was trying NxxWxxx and although it worked in boeing sims, it didnt in other sims (mainly MD11!

Quoting Fabo (Reply 11):

The MD11 FMC is totally different to the Boeing one. The MD11 is closer to the Airbus one actually. Of course not that advanced, but the basic function.
I cannot remember how we entered the coordinates into the MD11 FMC, already too long ago since I flew this bird
