According to posts on this forum, there's a handbook on how a singapore girl needs to do (and not do), like a manual. I'm really fascinated by SIA's service (compared to other airlines) and I'd like to buy it to see what it is about. It's definitely very hard to find through. Does anyone know where/who I can find one?

Ryanair!!! said this "A flip through the handbook for a Singapore Girl felt like I was going through my military manual with so many dos and don'ts regarding makeup, colour tones, hairstyle.... phew! Very comprehensive! Even right down to the way she should bend down to speak to passengers or pick up an object from the floor, the handbook teaches you to do that with grace in a paragraph."

in this thread.. JAL & Singapore..How Do They Do It? (by Learjet23 Feb 5 2004 in Civil Aviation)

If anyone has any idea of it, (like what the title is), please post! Thanks

From what I have heard about SQ flight attendant policy:-
- SQ flight attendants are not allowed to smoke when they are in uniform (at both outside and inside the airport)
- SQ female flight attendants policy said that they are not allowed to take a bus and train between home and the airport when they are wearing uniform. They must take a special taxi.

JAL cabin attendants...there's a japanese tv program called "Attention please". It tells us how to be a flight attendant.

enjoy it!

I just came across this: http://sgforums.com/forums/3317/topics/407892?page=1

"Where smoking is concerned, we actively promote a healthy lifestyle to our crew, and while there is no outright prohibition on smoking, we do have internal regulations which crew are required to abide by, and in accordance with laws governing non-smoking zones." --SIA

In the link you can clearly see that 3 SQ flight attendants are smoking outside the airport.

Ontopic: If you know a SQ flight attendant please contact me with their email.. I'll buy it for a pretty high price (seeing as how rare this is), and I'll even give you 'commission'. Thanks!

Sent off an email to SIA (under 'Careers' section) asking about it - my 2012 wish is that I get this!

Great, SIA's email (Employment_Enquiries@singaporeair.com.sg) is broken. (Router: Database disk quota exceeded)

I think they need to spend a bit more budget on email servers..
