I have decided I wanted to use FS9 a bit again, missing the good old RFP 742 and PSS Dash-8. Anyway Traffic 2004 is not going to cut it. I am trying to get World of AI to work but I been having problems installing.

I install and unzip the installer into a separate folder. I download a package.

So I go to the installer I open it with "run as admin."
I pick the package I want to install
I chose FS2004
I then paste in the FS main root folder C:Program Files (x86)Microsoft GamesFlight Simulator 9
I click install. The installer tells me the package is good but the problem is the aircraft folder is then created in the same folder the installer is in.

Nothing installs into FS9.

What am I missing here? Is there some file that needs to go into FS9 folders. I just see aircraft's in the installer folder no scenery files or anything. I really have no idea how World of AI flights are added to FS9 so not sure what else I have to do.

Thanks for any help.

Also I have net-framework 3.5 installed and working.

Instead of just pasting the FS9 directory, actually manually navigate to it (your FS9 directory) using the WOAI installer dialog. (there should be a button to do that)

I tried that.. But the installer wants me to continue to open files so once I get to the main FS9 directory it won't let me select it. It wants me to keep opening more folders if you get what I mean. I will try it out again.

Tried again to no avail. Really is confusing me why it won't let me chose a directory. It just makes me continuing to click and open files until there is nothing left to open. Thought it might be that click the right corner white space thing with the adding scenery thing but it was not that either. Another quick check showed that even though the FSX directory comes up automatically when I open it, it goes to the same folder the installer is in. No idea what could be wrong. Never have succeeded at World AI with XP or Win-7.

Anyone do a manual install? Is it difficult? Guess that cold be a fix to my problem.

When you browse and get to your FS9 folder, have you tried clicking on "fs9.exe" and then clicking the open button? I just poked around in my WOAI installer, and it looks like that might be the key to getting it to work. I've been using WOAI for years, and once you get it configured, it remembers your configuration, so I dont remember exactly how I got that in there.

Yes try that.

Also worth a shot (I seem to remember my WOAI detected FS9 automatically on the first try):

Well I got it to work. Not sure why, but it worked. At least this first package even after getting many error messages during install.
What I did was place the package zip file into the main FS9 Folder. I found that the installer just kept installing the stuff into the folder the package zip file was in. So I figured if I placed the package zip file in the FS9 folder it would install it right, and it seems to. I installed Delta and I have a full ATL with the old Traffic 2004 DL and World of AI Delta. Of course I will now delete the old DL.

Thanks for the help. If I have any more troubles I will be back
