I was about to start a flight on FSX, but when selecting aircraft, the 747-400s were not there. I dont know what happened, as all the files are still on my PC.

I really dont want to re-install the game as I will lose all my files.

Any help is appreciated.

Sounds like a corrupt or missing aircraft.cfg for the 747-400. Check if it's still there, Flight Simulator X->Sim Objects->Airplanes->b747-400
I only have the default 747's in my FSX install, and can send you that one.

I have a file named aircraft, not aircraft.cfg. Is that the one you mean or am I missing a file?

Back it up, then rename it aircraft.cfg and see if that fixes the problem. I assume FSX uses the .cfg files as FS9/FS8 do, so that might be the problem.

I tried that, and it did not work.

It depends, if it's corrupt it might have lost the extension. Are you looking in "Detail" (Detaljerad lista) mode?
Otherwise it might not show file extensions.

If you could grab a screen shot of your b747-400 folder and the actual aircraft file (around 30kb in size) and email it to me to the address I sent in a PM and I will take a look.

Just a small update to add the solution:

Aircraft.cfg was replaced and the 747's returned, meaning something in the originally installed .cfg had gone corrupt.

The cfg can be found on the DVD so no need to search the internet
