I've been having some pesky problems with my Flight Simulator 2004 for quite some time now but I've always just been to lazy to figure out what the problem was. This whole time I thought it was a joystick issue, so I just bought a new one but I'm still having the same problems. It seems like most of the time whenever I'm taxiing/taking off the plane tends to veer off the the right and left pretty badly. Then when I get in the air its tough to keep the nose down because it keeps goin straight up. Anyone ever encounter these problems before and know how to fix them? Thanks.

The one in the sky sounds like your aircraft needs trimming. Flight simulator has a lot on it so search through the help and you'll find out about it.

As for the other 2, does the sensitivity on your joystick need changing?

Do you have a 3 axis joystick? If you don't (and are unable to control the rudder) you will find the aircraft veers off because you'll be unable to hold it on the ailerons.

Hi!

This may sound very obvious but have you calibrated your joystick under windows settings/control panel? I have to do this every now and then or else things can veer/crash!

As for the nose pointing up it kinda depends what aircraft you're flying. The default Fs2004 Cessna 172 behaves pretty well but I find the 737-400 is way overpowered. I use about 80 percent N1 for takeoff which gives a much more realistic experience more like what I see out of the window of an airliner when I'm in one taking off.

Hope it might help.

Pierre

Are you flying default airplanes?

Alright so I tried recalibrating the joystick and that seemed to fix the problem. However, I'm still having problems getting the autopilot to work because even when I turn on the altitude hold switch, the nose continues to pitch up and down. Its not as much a problem with the default planes but for example the POSKY CRJ was a little frustrating to fly.

Are you using time acceleration? I find that on anything over 8x, it causes that pitching problem. Best thing to do is set it back to normal, let the pitching settle down and just use 8x instead.
