Hi all, I hope I'm posting this in the right section, but if not, mods feel free to move or delete.
I'm a current college Senior who will be graduating in May (can't wait!) and I just submitted applications for two different positions with jetBlue. B6's website apparently has a referral system and I was sent emails notifying me that current jetBlue employees could offer referrals for applications. But being from a city where jetBlue doesn't "jet" to, I unfortunately don't know anyone with the company, but these are two positions I very much want and it would be an absolute dream for me to work for B6 so I thought I'd turn to the a.net community:
Are there any current jetBlue employees who might be willing to help me out and offer a potential referral for my application? I'm not asking for blind referrals, but if anyone would be interested, please PM me and I'd be more than willing to share some background information on myself and my qualifications to see if you'd be willing to offer a referral.
I hope this doesn't come across as sketchy or desperate because that isn't my intention, I would just really like the opportunity to interview for the positions and potentially be able to work in two fields I'm very passionate about, so I would be remiss if I didn't reach out and touch every base I possibly could in putting together a compelling application.
Thanks for taking the time to read through all this, and again, if any jetBlue employees might be interested in helping me out, feel free to PM me.

I recently applied to them and was rejected. One of my good friends works for them at FLL. It really takes luck to get in. They might have a thousand openings company wide each year. They're a very well-liked company. For each job they post, they're getting a huge amount of applications.
Also, with the Sequester going on, airlines may be forced to cut schedules and lay off employees. This might not be the greatest time to apply for an airline job because if they have to downsize due to temporary schedule changes, the new hires would be the first to go.
My advice: Wait a few months if you can to see how this Sequester happens.

B6 has a no lay-off/furlough policy. They would put a hiring freeze in effect, try to put current crewmembers into alternate positions or Blue Cities, and if nothing meets a crewmembers interest offer them a buy-out package. But in many of the "downsizing" situations the airline has been through, the company has done everything it could to keep the crewmembers employed either with B6 or who was being contracted to do the work. This is really not a "seniority based" airline like the legacy carriers.....
