I always thought the most basic pilot license was PPL.
While reading up on what the easiest ( and cheapest) way would be to learn to fly, I came across something called 'Sport Pilot License' , which was new to me.
For one to get a sport pilot license, you only need 20 hrs of flying, no medical and some instructions. I looks like it also costs a lot less.
Although it comes with a lot of limitations ( no flying above 10000 ft or at night and can only fly light sport aircraft) I don't think it stops me from doing anything that I may be doing as a occasional hobby pilot.
As someone with no chance of ever doing flying for living who just wants to learn to fly for the sake of it, I think this type of license is just perfect.
What do you think? Do anyone here has this license? How is your experience?
