Good Day All,
A few years ago I drove around the Edwards, Mojave, Palmdale, Lancaster area, and wondered what other aviation attractions and curiosities there might be within easy reach of LA for a couple days driving around.
Not only aircraft museums, but also the likes of missile silos, cold war relics etc.

Space Shuttle Endeavour is at the California Science Center in LA. My last visit was shuttle focused but when I went years ago they had a DC-3 and a United DC-8. I also started my model airplane collection there, with Schabak models purchased at the gift shop. A couple hours drive south, there's also an aerospace museum in Balboa Park in San Diego, and as a bonus it sits under the approach to Lindbergh Field.
For non aviation Cold War relics, you might want to check out the Scorpion Soviet submarine, moored adjacent to the Queen Mary in Long Beach.
