I just sent e-mail to Northwest Airlines, Mesaba Airlines, Crossair, and TWA. How long does it take until airlines reply? I'm just curious. Are they prompt, or does it take a week? These are the first airlines I've written to. I wrote to NWA and Crossair yesterday and the others today.

I e-mailed TWA and they responded two hours later. I got the package in three days. Northwest took two days to respond and denied my request. Keep trying.

I told them I was doing a project (I was infact) and asked for safety cards, timetables, photos, etc. anything that could help make my project a success. I would ask for I believe her name is Sharon but I am not sure.

Some airlines have replied to me the same day I wrote an email, saying the would/wouldn't, some have taken up to 3 weeks (would/wouldn't) and some havent replied and some sent me stuff and some didn't. I would wait around 2 weeks to recieve an email reply and a month to recieve a package (although it once to Air Malta 3 months to mail me stuff).

Don't count on a reply. I emailed someone at an airline here and got a reply 2 months after my assignment due date saying 'Sorry I can't help you now but best of luck anyway"

So... Moral is, don't expect a reply. If you do get one, then its a very nice bonus

I must admit the only place I wrote to when I was 13-14 was Boeing and Airbus by snail mail - Boeing sent me through shed loads of brochures, photos etc, Airbus sent me stickers, photos and brochures!

I think it was rather sad now in hindsight, but it was fun at the time getting a huge package from abroad!

What I find interesting is that both Crossair and TWA are gone.

Wow it's been a good 8 years since I've emailed any airlines. Air India, NWA, and crossair we're pretty good in sending a buttload of stuff.

Well, many times it is unsuccessful as airlines are cutting back. I've tried plenty, and so far, no luck.

Why aren't these 7 year old threads locked out in this forum after a period of time like they are in Civil Aviation and Technical forum?
