Official Launch of Virtual Canada 3000 Announced

September 18th 2001

Virtual Canada 3000 would like to announce that the official launch date of our Virtual Airline is slated for Friday September 21st 2001.

Founded by the members of the former Virtual Royal Airlines, well known as the most realistic VA in existence, Virtual Canada 3000 brings together high quality aircraft, with some of the best, and most devoted flightsim pilots out there.

VC3 is proud to be able to offer a VA environment that closely parallels the operations of a real world airline, including up to date schedules, destinations, and fleet. We serve points from “Vienna to Sydney”, With an ever expanding pilot roster and a strong and devoted administrative team, we hope we can make your flightsim experience more true to real life then ever before!!!

Becoming our Pilot and Ranks

If you are a new Virtual Canada 3000 visitor and want to become our pilot you must click on the JOIN option on our website and fill in the application form. After submitting the form, you’ll receive (after a few days) an e-mail to assure that you have become a VC3 pilot, giving your name, pilot number, your HUB, All new VC3 Pilots begin their career on the Boeing 737-200 either at Canjet or at ROYAL Airlines. After receiving the e-mail assuring you are our pilot, your flights start. They will be posted in the Pilots section on the website. Ranks will depend on your flight hours. See the table below. There you can see all ranks and the necessary flight hours required to reach them.

It will not be hard to reach the highest Rank, because sometimes you’ll have very long flights - like 9 hours ++ - (e.g.: TORONTO – Europe, or Vancouver - Sydney). We also operate on a BID System, Unlike other virtual airlines, Virtual Canada 3000 assigns it's pilots to bases and to aircraft types on a bid system. Just like at the real airlines VC3 pilots can submit their bid for a base, and aircraft type. Assignments are given out according to the number of hours that a pilot has. Pilots can download a bid request sheet from the BIDs page, and there is also a BID Request Form within each new pilots package. All bids should be submitted 1 week before the end of the three month period, they are then taken by the management and are combined in our bid database, which computes the information and gives us the assignments which we will then place on the pilots web page. even though we operate on a bid system, there is still a minimum requirement of hours to be eligible for upgrade to a new aircraft. This insures that each of our pilots gets some time to fly each aircraft type, and that our VA can operate all of it's fleet on all of its routes.

Our Flights:

If you happen to see a CMM flight number on your pro-controler screen here is some information that may help you out:

Flight Numbers
Radio Call-Sign
Airline 3 Letter Codes

Canada 3000
All Other Flight Numbers

ROYAL Airlines

VIRTUAL C3 operate out of four bases: TORONTO, VANCOUVER, MONTREAL, and HALIFAX. New pilots who join VC3 will be assigned to a base, at the end of the first 3 month period a pilot will be able to bid for a new base. When you have general questions or Company related questions, please feel free to contact us at any time.

The Pilots Section, You will find a list of all of our pilots, there ranks, and total hours. This is also where a pilot will be able to download their new flights for the period.

Our Fleet:

As mentioned before this airline uses several types of aircrafts, The Airbus A340-300, Airbus A330-200, Airbus A310-300, Boeing 757-200ER, Airbus A320-200, Airbus A319-100 and the Boeing 737-200. However, not all of these aircraft can be flown at the same time. When a pilot first joins, he or she are only qualified to fly the Boeing 737-200. As the pilot adds hours to his or her VC3 file he or she will be able to bid for a new aircraft type. If the real Canada 3000 makes fleet changes then VC3 will also add those planes to our fleet. If new aircraft come online with VC3 the first pilots to be assigned with the new aircraft will be those with the highest rank. The first pilot to fly a new aircraft must file a report to the company which will be made available to the other pilots on the flying characteristics of a new aircraft type added into the fleet.

This is cool, im thinking of joining. The flightplan download page gives a 404 error though. You guys should add some 737 flights to YKA, even if the real C3 dosnt have any. If your interested in that I could come up with a few flight plans for the YVR-YKA-YYC triangle(or line).

I notcied ya guys need some Chief pilot roles,
What would this work entail? I have been a HM and CEO/VP for many vA's and have experiance but we have never had Chief Pilots for any of them. In case you were wondering of my credentials, I just retired from Clipper Airways where i was EGCC (MAN) Operations Manager. I am currently also opening my own VA called Mountain Springs which will be based in SLC with hubs in MCI and SAN (dont worry, we wont compete at all with Canada 3k  Smile/happy/getting dizzy So I guess I have extended my interest in joining. I also have a suggestion for you, You should create a position of someone that dpes advertising (as in spreading the word of mouth). I have found this most successful with new VA's. So if ya could answer my question that would be great!

Thanks for the interest...

Sorry YKA we want to keep it as close to real world as we can, but I think there are plans for a summer YKA route next year.

ATCT, A chief pilot role includes finding the best aircraft models/ air files for thoes airplanes, as well as panels, and other addons for that aircraft type. They also work on training material, as well as something we may be trying which is developing our own SOP's and materials to help fly our airplane...if it works we will be the first VA in the world to have such features...I like your Advert Person Idea, and I will definatly try to implament something like that....Thanks Again!!

Where do you book all your hours? Is there some software for that or you just do it yourself??

Lindy: a PIREP form is downloaded and filled out, it is an excell document, you then send it in to the company, and your hours are updated, and stored on a master list.
