I've placed several orders with The Airplane Shop, and I've had nothing but great service! They will email you with the info on when your package was shipped, and offer a link to UPS to track the shipment. Great service and great people to deal with! (if anyone from the store reads this - how about a discount on my next order??

I did not have as good service from the Airplane shop
I didn't receive all the planes I asked for ( 2 were missing with no explanation) and I was charged an extra 30 UK pounds for customs by the postal company.
It took 2.5 months to receive my order.
I will not be using them again.

I haven't bought anything from them yet, just browsed. If they are as good as Amazon I will use them, otherwise I would have doubts, I haven't looked at the purchasing side of things properly yet, like if they have SSL.. That Concorde model is very tempting though..!

Perhaps BA747-436 was making a general point and referring to other online stores such as Amazon and basing this on expereinces with other mail order companies on the internet.
What sort of stuff does the aviation store actually sell? Why can't people just go to their local aviation hobby store?
