For example, when I downloaded a 747-200 for FS2002, the plane had a Cessna cockpit. Everytime I download a plane, it gets some default plane cockpit and handles wierdly. How do I download a plane that has its cockpit and handles realistically? I always had this problem. I'm sorry if this topic's been already discussed, I really don't use this forum much.

Hi, BH.
Most of the planes available for download do not include panels or sounds for that aircraft. If you look in the panel folder for your 747-200 and open your panel.cfg file (with Word Pad) you will likely see the following:
[fltsim]
alias=c172\panel
If you alter that to read:
[fltsim]
alias=b747_400\panel
(there should be a back slash between c172 and panel and 400 and panel but it doesn't show up here) and save it, you should have a working 747 panel.

You can download panels from Simviation.com and they do have both 747 and generic 4 engined panels available. While you are there also download an Aircraft Installer package called Aiu. Once installed you simply go to the panel.zip through your windows explorer and right click on the file. Select "open with Aiu" and it will extract it to the right place for you. More importantly once it is done it looks at your installed aircraft and asks you which one you want to assign that panel to. Very clever, and congratulations to the gentleman who designed it . You have done us a great service. Some like the BA777 comes with its own panel but then it is a 2.2 Mb Zip file. The file is called "ultim777" I think and is on the same site.
