Good evening everybody! This message goes out to anyone who has purchased and played the game "Airline" by Efzed. I'm seriously considering shelling out the AU$85 to purchase the game, but would like some input before I do so. Basically, what I truly want is an airline simulation that is realistic, yet flexible. For instance, I've tried Airpro in the past, and didn't like the way it categorized short haul and long haul routes, etc etc. How does Airline handle this? Does it use a mileage system to determine how far a certain route is, and how long it should take? Also, would it determine in that way if a particular aircraft can handle that route? I don't want it to let me put a Shorts 360 on a route from New York to LA. I'd just like a little feedback on this aspect on the game. Also, I know the maker of the game is lurking around here too, so I'd love your input as well before I make the purchase. Thanks everyone!

Good evening everyone!

I really don’t like posting too much about AIRLINE to this forum because as the original creator, of course there may be some doubt as to the validity of my comments. I also am very careful not to be seen to be advertising but I think a general overview is still deemed to be an acceptable post.

www.airlinesimulation.com is being updated in the next 24 hours to include some of the cities and aircraft types included in the simulation. Basically, the system calculates distance between any two given cities and ascertains range of aircraft for each route. You cannot schedule a Shorts 360 non stop from LAX to JFK or a 744 non stop from SYD to JFK. The system calculates speed of aircraft, departure and arrival times and builds timetables also allowing you to print those timetables.

The current release of AIRLINE tracks up to 3000 aircraft each with 210 possible sectors. For each sector it stores information about passenger numbers, service levels, fare levels, fuel & mileage – recently AIRLINE was updated to include seasonal travel and pax numbers based on departure times. It allows the user to select seat types for First, Business, Economy classes, video monitors in each class, limousine transfers, create a frequent flyer program or what type (if any) food to feed the pax. You can opt to outsource your maintenance or keep it all in house, you can provide newspapers and free drinks if that’s the sort of airline you wish to run.

AIRLINE is flexible. We try to keep it as realistic as possible. We have regular updates and upgrades, much of what goes into these upgrades/updates is driven by user requests. If there are cities or aircraft types people want to see included, we will endeavor to put them in the next update. We are always open to your suggestions. Everyone that works on AIRLINE at Efzed is an aviation enthusiast who is genuinely enthralled by the industry and therefore keep the sim as realistic as possible. Release 4.1 due out in March will include cargo and charter flights, this is as a direct result of user requests.

If you want any further information, please mail us at efzed@efzed.com.au - we would be glad to provide any further information you require.

I just got the game and I like it very much I would recomend it to people who like business type games such as the tycoon game series. Only it is with a subject much more interesting than railroad tycoon and the others.

Common sense is not all that common
