I don't want to sound critical and all, and please take my comments as suggestions.

I think it would be best to put your menu towards the top. I have a resolution of 1024x768 right now, and even at that, I have to scroll down to get to the menu. While the photo is great and a nice welcome, I think that the menu should also welcome the visitor and invite them further into your site. Remember, the above-the-fold mark that is important in newspapers, also is important in web design.

Other than that, keep it up. Remember, "content is king", and you seem to have the content there. Good luck, and if I can be of any help, just let me know.
