Who has heard of the ASA EMB-120 Crash. It happened August 1995. The #1 Engine Failed and threw 3 of 4 propeller blades into the wing, some passengers escaped and some died. It was on its way to GPT where I live, well, I live in Ocean Springs 15 minutes away from GPT. :-) luckily not everone died

Hello Colin Kumpunen.

Yes, I have heard of that crash. I saw the flight attendant from the crash speak once at a luncheon.

By the way, people shouldn't trade safety cards with this person no matter what his profile says. Colin burned me and many others.
More information will be relinquished if requested via e-mail.

Yes indeed. The #1 engine shredded itself, sending three of four prop blades into the cabin. The Captain did a truly heroic job trying to bring the bird down safely, and almost succeeded. The plane clipped some trees as he was attempting to land in a field and broke in half.
Thanks to the Captain's efforts, 21 people survived. Only 8 of the 29 onboard perished, unfortunately the Captain was one of them.

Yes, this airline is Atlantic Southeast Airlines, now owned by Delta Airlines. Fortunately this is one of only a few and the last one to ever happen to this wonderful little airline.

I would like to Apologize to Jason Seiple for the nasty Flaming I posted about him. I was out of control, and I need to work on Temper Control. I Apologize and it will not happen again.

There was a 20/20 report on that back in August. I have a book that has the Black Box transcript from that crash.
