My Obsession: KLM 747's

I can't get enough of looking at pictures of any 747 from the KLM airline.

I used to have a small diecast metal version of it, and then one day when I was 10 at an airport in Houston, I looked out the window and for the first time saw a real one on the runway next to us.

Ever since, I find myself infatuated with them.

Anyone else have an obsession like this for a silly reason as mine?

In 1968 when I was 3 I watched a Eastern Electra roll out to the runway at RDU and have been crazy about Eastern Electras in the hockey stick scheme since.

I'm also a big fan of the KLM 747's. In fact, I have 3 that I fly on my FS2002 game. They are 2 B747-400's, PH-BFA and PH-BFB, and one B747-300, PH-BUU. These beauties are simply awesome! And in my opinion, the KLM livery is the best in the sky!

BTW, Phil - KLM's 747s, especially the -400s, ARE amazing. I love their livery, always have.

Might I suggest you purchase this model:

It's the Herpa 1:200 scale Premium version.

I like British Airways! I'm not sure why, but I do! ;-)

and it's somehow wrong...

The "Boeing 747-400" titles should be spelled in gold, not white.
Gearstruts should be bare metal, not white.
Shape of the engines is wrong.
Dark blue band should extend a bit further down.
Maybe there's more

All minor details maybe (especially when seen separate), but you'd expect better at the price.

As my name suggests, I luv the B727  Love

To the point where I have driven out to the airport in the middle of the night just to watch a B727F come in (no commercial B727's in Australia anymore).

B727-200.

My first aviation experiences were at Zurich in the seventies, so this was the time of SR's (and others) DC-9's. I can't get enough of the DC-9/MD-80/90 and now the Boeing 717...
If somebody can give me some links to websites, books etc...it would be nice!!!!

Flew PH-BUK a couple of times before it became a combi. Great airplane! Glad to see its still doing the long haul thing; I wonder how many miles and ocean crossings it now has?
