It has been "soon to be released" for almost a year now, and the project crew has been strangely quiet for over a month...
Website hasn't been updated in 6 months, etc.

Since the release of the PSS Airbus all I've seen of them is some flames about that product and several requests for people to help them out producing a panel. I guess they are all flying the PSS Airbus and trying to incorporate its features in theirs to have a realistic alternative (I have my doubts about their large claims about having many A320 pilots on their staff, especially when they go on to say that those pilots think the PSS Airbus is totally unrealistic compared to theirs (if theirs were so good, why wasn't it released on schedule...)).

Nothing against Project Airbus, but their behaveour lately seems weird moving from hostile to defensive and then dropping out of sight completely.

If you have a look at there forum, you will see a lot of members are having exams, so the work is a little bit slow, but they are packing the liveries and sounds and the final work on the vc is being done. Release date has been set between now and a month. So be patient, the plane will be absolutely stunning.

Wietse

ps, it isn't released on schedule, as new members with new ideas and forum members with new ideas brought up things that still lack the a/c, the detail is absolutely stunning. They could have released it end of Q1, but they want it to be as perfect as they can.

Jwenting, I am Trevor Slack, Director/ Project Manager of Project Airbus.

What you have said in your post just shows how much you know what is going on. I cannot believe you have posted so much none-sense.

"It has been "soon to be released" for almost a year now,"

We have been working on the project for over 8 months now, it was due in April, we went over because of testing of the aircraft, and we needed more time working on specific parts of the model, such as the virtual cockpit and the nose.

"and the project crew has been strangely quiet for over a month...
Website hasn't been updated in 6 months, etc."

What? We have a forum, we answer questions there and keep our members informed on progress as much as possible, if you as me, not many other groups keep peopel informed as much as we do. As for the website, it is because our webmaster is in university, he has a mac and has no FTP available. He will be back next month. There will be a redesign of the whole website, working along with Michel K. a well known proffessional graphics and webpage designer.

"Since the release of the PSS Airbus all I've seen of them is some flames about that product and several requests for people to help them out producing a panel."

Did we tell you we offered to help PSS with some sounds, in matter of fact it was Peter Binamira who offered them warning sounds, they rejected.

As for a panel, if you have not already noticed, we are a aircraft, sound and flight dynamics designer group, we have no intention on making panels, nor have we ever. It is too complex, besides, Apollo software and PSS have made it already.

"I guess they are all flying the PSS Airbus and trying to incorporate its features in theirs to have a realistic alternative"

I don't even have the PSS Airbus. How in the world can we incorporate their features into ours? We stated in the begining of the project back in October what we will have as features and we have met up to them fully.

"(I have my doubts about their large claims about having many A320 pilots on their staff, especially when they go on to say that those pilots think the PSS Airbus is totally unrealistic compared to theirs (if theirs were so good, why wasn't it released on schedule...))."

We do have A320 pilots on our team, in matter of fact, one of them Gianmarco Bettiol is in Hong Kong right now with Project Airbus members doing soem discussion of the project and helping us make the flight dynamics even more realistic.

We say ours maybe more realistic in terms of flight dynamics, Gianmarco has the PSS A320 and he has commented that our flight characteristics are more accurate and they match up to the operating values in the right situations(N1%, etc)

"Nothing against Project Airbus,"

Indeed.

"but their behaveour lately seems weird moving from hostile to defensive"
Hostile? Defensive? Havn't had a problem what-so-ever until this post.

"and then dropping out of sight completely"

Nope, it is you who does not know anything about us at all. We keep the public informed in the forums, we have made puclic announcements on new projects, such as the AN225 recently. Please get your facts right Jwenting.

Thanks MIAspotter, we shall take our time.

The reason for the long wait is because we have our real-lives, this is just a hobby. A lot of us are doing exams and are in the busy times of the year. Just a few more weeks till the summer.

When the A320 is released, the A321, A319, A318 (in that order) shoudl be released a lot quicker because of the similar parts used. The wait, I am sure, will be worth it, tested by over 5 real A320 family pilots and other aircraft pilots, spotters, Airbus mechanics and team members, the flight dynamics promise to be accurate, along with the visual model.

Thanks for your support.

Trevor

I'm not gonna head over to the PA Forum, so I'll ask it here. Are there any chances that project airbus will release an A340? That's what I want!!

Hey there, since we ARE Project AIRBUS we will get round to doing an A340 one day.

But first we have to complete the A320 family, then Antonov AN124 and AN225, then the A300 family. A330/340 will be covered someday.  Smile

Why Antonov? It's not Airbus! It'd make more sense to do the A340-300 first!

We have always made the AN124 and AN225 for FS, before we even named ourselves Project Airbus, however, we will continue to stick to Airbus aircraft  Smile
